Salem, IN (September 11, 2012) – The ARCA/CRA Super Series will head south for the JEGS 100, one of its Southern Tour events, this Saturday at Gresham Motorsports Park, located in Jefferson, Georgia. Gresham Motorsports Park, formally known as Peach State Speedway, went through a multi-million dollar renovation three years ago that made that facility the premier short track in the country and is the home for the World Crown, one of the top template Super Late Model events in the country.

Saturday’s event has attracted a stellar field of late model competitors led by top late model racer and Georgia native Bubba Pollard. Pollard got the win in last year’s CRA event at Gresham, taking the lead after passing early leader and fellow Georgia native T.J. Reaid on lap 58. Pollard would hold off a hard charging Augie Grill first and then Reaid in several late restarts to get the victory, one of 19 in a late model last year. Reaid would finish in second followed by Ryan Blaney in third, Daniel Hemric in fourth and David Odell in fifth. Pollard is having another good season in in his JEGS sponsored machine in 2012, he is leading the Five Flags Speedway Blizzards Series standings and the Gulf Coast Championship standings and won the Lee Fields Memorial last Sunday at Mobile International Speedway.

14 year old Kyle Benjamin has entered Saturday’s event as he looks to continue his great season that began by winning races and the Super Late Model Championship at New Smyrna’s World Series of Asphalt Racing during Speedweeks in February. Benjamin picked up a win with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour on the famous High Banks of Winchester Speedway in May, and then followed that up with a win with the ARCA/CRA Super Series at Lucas Oil Raceway on July 27th.

The “Million Dollar Man” Daniel Hemric will jump behind the wheel of Jake Carswell’s Super Late Model to race in Saturday night’s event. The North Carolina Hot Shoe has had a dominating season with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour were he has won seven events for the Scott Neal Racing Team and holds a commanding points lead with only two of those points events left on the 2012 schedule.

Ross Kenseth, son of NASCAR Champion Matt Kenseth, is also entered. Kenseth scored one of his biggest wins in his career by winning the Redbud 300 ARCA/CRA Super Series event at Anderson Speedway on July 21st. Kenseth has also been to victory lane this season with the PASS South series. 14 year old John-Hunter Nemecheck, son of NASCAR competitor Joe Nemecheck, has also entered Saturday night’s event.

T.J. Reaid is also entered in his Bill Elliott Racing #41 as he looks to finish one position higher than last season’s Gresham CRA event. Reaid won the ARCA/CRA Super Series Northern season opener at Anderson Speedway on April 14th.  Other top late model competitors who are entered for Saturday’s event includes Georgia natives Russell Fleeman, Dwayne Buggay, Johnny Henderson, Alan Karnes, Rodney Benefield, Paul Kelly and Dalton Grindle. Oklahoma’s Kenzie Ruston, currently second in ARCA/CRA Super Series Northern points, is entered along with fellow Oklahoma hot shoe Donnie Wilson. Florida’s Stephen Nasse and Logan Boyett, South Carolina’s Randy Gentry, and Virgina’s David Quackenbush are all entered as well.

Pit passes go on sale at Gresham Motorsports Park on Saturday at 11:00am. Pit gates will open at 11:30am. CRA Practice will begin at 2pm with qualifying for the JEGS 100 at 6:30pm. There will be an autograph session involving all the drivers starting at the conclusion of CRA qualifying.
