FAYETTEVILLE, TN–The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will be back in action this Saturday night May 21st for the 4th Annual Scott Sexton Memorial at the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN., for a 52 lap $5,200 to win event . The event honors Sexton who in his short Southern All Star career collected 10 wins that all accounted for $10,000 wins the most by one driver in series history. Past winners of this event include 2014 Ray Cook of Murphy, NC, 2013 Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY., and in 2012 Chris Madden of Gray Court, SC.,
For the fourth edition of this event Riley Hickman of Cleveland, TN., will lead the Southern All Star drivers into the 4/10th mile high banked oval along with two Cruise with the Champions/Dirtondirt.com rookies in the second and third, Brad Skinner of Spring Hill, TN., and Jim Rogers of Statesboro, GA., both of who will be making their first trips to Volunteer Speedway.
Other drivers that have competed with the series this year are expected to be in action inc8lude Randy Weaver of Crossville, TN., Chris Madden of Gray Court, Sc., Todd Morrow of east Ridge, TN., Skylar Marlar of Knoxville, TN., Tommy Kerr of Rockford, TN., Billy Ogle Jr of Knoxville, TN., Dusty Carver of Englewood, TN., Mark Vineyard of Knoxville, TN., Donald McIntosh of Blairsville, GA., Chad Ogle of Knoxville, TN., Shannon Buckingham of Morristown, TN., plus many more drivers from across the southeast.
This the 8th race of the season for the Southern All Stars and so far in 2016 the series has had 7 different winners and could Saturday night at Volunteer be winner #8. The Southern All Star portion of the program will consist of Group A & B qualifying along with PPM Racing Products B Mains as well at the 52 lap feature. Also on the program will be features in the Sportsman Late Model and Modified Street.
