Graham, NC 9/24/12– Trevor Noles of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina picked up his first career CCS Super Limited win in just his second start Saturday night at the Hickory Motor Speedway in front of a healthy crowd in the grandstands and an even healthier field of racecars. Noles had to hold on to the lead on a lap forty-seven restart that set up several hardnosed battles in the sprint to the checkered flag just three laps later.

In victory lane Noles explained how he couldn’t believe he and his Coulter Motorsports race team were already in victory lane in the toughest field of cars the series has seen thus far in 2012.

“This is just amazing to be in the winner’s circle in just our second start with CCS. I was worried at the end when we kept having those cautions allowing the guys behind me to close the lead I had built up, but Randy Renfrow gave us a fast car and we just pulled away from everyone at the end,” said an excited Noles. “I started a little deeper in the field than I would have liked, and then it took us a while to get going with all those cautions. Once we finally got going and got around that #5 car I was able to open a lead and hold on for the win.”

Championship points leader Austin Lietner took advantage of a pole position start and jumped out to the lead on the initial green flag. As Lietner lead the race in the early going, it was Noles who took advantage of several yellows on lap six and again on lap twelve to get the jump on the field, eventually taking the lead position. No quicker than Noles took the lead the yellow flag would fly once again on lap thirteen after contact between Walker Yates and Hans Seth resulted in Yates’ machine making hard contact with the inside of the front stretch wall ending his night.

The battle for the lead between Noles and Lietner only continued briefly at the beginning of each restart before Noles would open a three car length lead under green. Shortly after the halfway indication by series officials Cole Timm, normally a factor to do battle for the win, experienced mechanical issues down the back stretch causing his #57 machine to slow suddenly. The adverse luck by one quickly became the fate of others as the machines of Jeff Batten and Karl Weber were collected in a wreck in an attempt to miss the slowing Timm ending both drivers nights early.

This allowed Leitner another shot at Noles to regain the top position before finding out he was more than he could handle settling for a solid runner up finish to increase his points leader over the rest of the field. Tate Fogleman made the move of the race exiting turn four when he sling shot his #4 machine to the inside of Austin Reed to finish third at the line.

The next up for the CCS Super Limited late models series will be the season finale on Saturday November 24th at the Concord Speedway in Concord, North Carolina in conjuction with the PASS South super late model series.
