Jefferson, GA (April 25, 2013) – The Southern Super Series will be at Gresham Motorsports Park this Saturday! The first Southern Super Series race, at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, was a huge success and Bubba Pollard made history by winning the first Southern Super Series Race event. GMP’s First Southern Super Series Race of the season will be the Racing Radios 125 presented by Schoenfeld Headers on April 27th and there will be much going on for the entire family!
As of today, GMP will run everything on Saturday as it is scheduled. If there were to be bad weather, GMP will do everything possible to get all of the race events in and that may include rearranging the order in which the divisions run. GMP will keep fans, drivers and teams informed about the weather through updates on RaceGMP.com, Facebook and Twitter.
The First Southern Super Series race event at GMP already has a strong early entry list of drivers and teams, including, Mike Garvey, Hunter Robbins, Jerick Johnson, David Odell, John Hunter Nemecheck, Michael Lance, Daniel Hemric, TJ Reaid, Donnie Wilson, Ross Kenseth and more! On Saturday, April 27th, gates will open at 11:30am for Trackside parking and the Grandstands. The concession Stand in the infield will open at 9am and in addition to the regular infield menu, drivers and teams will be able to order Homemade Chicken Salad Croissant sandwiches with Pasta Salad and Chips. The infield concession stand and the grandstand concession stand, which will open at 1pm, will be serving BBQ Plates with BBQ, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw and French Fries. The Grandstand concession stand will also serve kids hot dog or chicken finger baskets with fries and lemonade in a souvenir plastic mason jar mug!
The Moonshiners TV cast will be making an appearance at GMP from 2pm – 8pm this Saturday! Jeff Waldrip, Mark Rogers, Lance Waldrip, & Mike Lewis will be signing autographs and taking pictures with fans throughout the evening!
There will be an on-track driver autograph session immediately following qualifying at 5:30pm. Come meet your favorite driver until 6:30pm! Opening Ceremonies will take place at 6:35pm and the Lanier Shrine Club will make a lap around the track in their parade vehicles, the Pole Award will be presented and Comfort Suites will be recognized as the Spotlight Sponsor before the Jackson County High School ROTC present the colors and Alexis Hart sings the National Anthem.
GMP will be giving away prizes throughout the night and those in attendance could win a $45 WalMart Gift Card, a Texas Roadhouse Gift Certificate, 8 X 10 photographs of all of the night’s race winners, a gourmet gift basket from Jimmy’s Real Pit BBQ, GMP souvenirs and more!
Tickets for the Racing Radios 125 Presented by Schoenfeld Headers will be $20 for Adults, $17 for Military and Seniors, $15 for school employees and students (with school ID), and FREE for children 12 and under.
