What an awesome exciting night of racing at Putnam County Speedway it was last night….outlaws were caught and many special racing memories were made.
It was Trent Wilson first visit to the track with his Hobby Stock and done fairly well won his heat race and lead most of the feature trying to hold off the master of the track this season DJ Nobles but just couldn’t hold him off at 4 or 5 laps to go so the win went to DJ Nobles in the #15 Hobby Stock followed by #64 Trent Wilson & current track points leader of the division #72 Jake Hartley rounding out the top three.
The Thunder Stock race was a real exciting one to mark down in the history books with Steve Cox taking the checkered flag…not only did he get the bounty that was put on Thunder stock dominator of the track at PCS Mike Tripp, it was Steve’s first win in the Thunder Stock class ever, so congrats to Steve Cox and crew on his win who was followed by #114 John Thorpe & #14 Josh Hughes rounding out the top three finishers.
The Modified division was on track next with awesome competitive dirt slinging action as always, rounding out the battle and coming on top taking the checkered flag was David Crews followed by Don Strosahl and the #21 of Corey Crews who was later DQ’ed for Driver Conduct towards track officials moving up the #429 of Tim Brown to the 3rd place position.Congrats to David Crews on the win.
Next on track was the Mini Stocks.The #32 of Billy Evans battled it out and came out on top taking the checkered flag followed by the #28 of Dalton Walker who was Dq’ed at tech for having alleged fuel additives in the car moving up the third place car #42 of Candie Moniz to 2nd place and Mark Moniz in the #41 rounding out top three finishers.
The V8/V6 Strictly Stocks were on track next Brandon Haseleu in the #3 took off with an early lead holding on for a couple of laps contact was made by another car ended up results of Brandon taking a hard hit to the outside wall on the front stretch causing to much damage to the front end of his car for him to continue racing so ended his night early unfortunately. Joe Watson in the #73 takes the win for the first time this season at PCS over Cheyenne Sullivan in the #29.
The last race of the night was also exciting competition. Another outlaw of the track was caught and Reid Christensen received the reward of the bounty money of an extra $50 bucks in the #21 car. The outlaw Steven Johnson in the #81 was not to far behind and gave it is all for a 2nd place finish, Stephen Frankland had a great race going as well and settled for the 3rd place spot.
Congrats to Ciera Baxter on winning the monthly Power Wheels race the track has for the kids.
This week don’t forget the track will be racing on Friday night July 3rd instead of the usual Saturday night routine racing so families can celebrate the 4th of July. It is also FREE Military night… Free Entry Active and Non Active Military With ID. Divisions that will be racing are as follows Florida Outlaw EMod Series, Limited Late Models, Gladiators, Strictly Stock V8, Spectator Race and FIREWORKS!!!.
