Action finally returns to Orlando SpeedWorld Saturday night, August 24 after several weeks off due to poor weather conditions and a change in management.Jimbo Chadwick is now the new track General Manager for owner Ozzy Moya and he has plenty of great things planned for the rest of 2013 beginning with this week.
Six classes will be in action including the Sportsman, Pro Trucks, Mini-Fours
(formerly Mini Stocks), Super Stocks, E-Modifieds and Bombers (formerly
Strictly Stocks). Pit gates open at 3 pm with pit admission at $25 per
person. Practice is slated from 4-6:30 pm.
Grandstand gates will open at 6 pm. Adult admission is just $12 with all
seniors and active military getting in for $10. Kids 11 and under are
absolutely free. This week, all drivers will be bringing their cars out for a
special autograph session at intermission.
Also, this Friday night, August 23, a special test and tune practice will be
held from 6-10 pm. Admission to the pits is $10 per person but those wanting
to spectate can watch from the main grandstand for free. No concessions will
be available on practice night, but fans can bring their own refreshments with
them with the exception of alcohol as no alcoholic beverages will be allowed
on the property during practice.
As a reminder to race teams, the track is available for rent at $75 per hour.
Teams must also pay an EMT fee of $15 per hour (minimum three hours) that is
paid directly to the EMTs on site.
