10122013Ocala, FL- The Bubba Army Late Models, Scorpion Racing Products UMP DirtCar Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks, and Rent-N-Roll Gladiators will all take to the track with championships wrapping up quickly.

The Bubba Army Late Models are back for the first time in two months after the rain destroyed the month of August and Rich Pratt still has the #0 at the point. Eleven year old Tyler Clem sits 66 back in second place, an incredible feat for the Late Model rookie. Defending division champion Mark Whitener is now 100 markers back, and Bryan Bernhardt is a further 21 behind him. Jeff Mathews rounds out the top five. Pratt very well could win the title without a race victory, but he doesn’t want to do that. Can you name the last driver to win a title (in any division) at Bubba Raceway Park without a feature victory that year?

Jeff Mathews put his foot down (figuratively and literally) and now has a 19 point lead over Charlie O’Neill in the Scorpion Racing Products Modifieds championship. In fact, O’Neill is the only driver to make every feature, making Mathews feat more impressive. Scott Kurtzner sits only 38 markers behind Mathews, Rich Pratt is a further 12 behind Kurtzner, and Bryan Bernhardt is just two behind Pratt! The title is far from over and it can only get better as October begins to close.

Devin Walker is slowly closing in on wrapping up his first title and he now knows what his clinching scenarios are. Sean Monoghan is the only driver left that can prevent a Walker title, but Monoghan has already shifted focus to race victories and nothing more. Mike Stalnaker is right where he was last year- third- but has had a much different season than last season. Brian Shea and Hunter Gustafson wrap up the top five. Walker will look to become the youngest champion in the Modern Era, but the record may not last for long.

Timing is everything. When you hit your rough stretch, when you win, and even when you spin. Brandon Elwood has had a brilliant past few weeks with back-to-back wins included, while William Gillam has watched a 30-point lead shrink down to just five measly ticks. Those two have separated themselves from the rest of the group, but don’t think Melvin Fockler, Brandon Tillander, and Tony Campbell are laying back. In fact, Fockler and Tillander are in a fight for third, but they’re all seeking a big 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stock win at the 3/8 mile.

Never call it official until you have the trophy in hand, but Stephen Frankland has pretty much clinched the Rent-N-Roll Gladiators title. Tom Sheehan is a lonely 347 points back, while Bill Southard is third, 520 back. Tyler Bryden and Jerry Taylor round out the top five.
