CARTERSVILLE, GA – Tony Gray of Coker, AL and Jeff Glisson of Boaz, KY were the big winners in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 20 action.  Both drivers picked up a pair of victories over the weekend.  Bret Holmes of Munford, AL also took a win over the weekend to move him into the Top 10 of the point standings.

Gray drove the Gray Motorsports Special to two wins on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS.  The first race was a NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 11 make-up race, and the second victory came in the Week 20 event.  Gray now has three wins this season.

Glisson drove the SGR Equipment Rocket to his third win of the season on Friday night at Malden Speedway in Malden, MO by out running the top two drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings, Mickey Trosclair of Luling, LA, who finished third, and Chase Washington of Houlka, MS, who finished second.  Glisson took his second win of the weekend, and his fourth of the season, on Saturday night at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN.

Holmes picked up his second NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series win of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL driving the Holmes II Excavating Special.  The 50-point victory came in the 14th week of competition for the 14-year-old driver, and vaulted him into the ninth spot of the point standings.

Just four points separate the top three drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings and ten points separate the top six.  All drivers in the Top 20 of the points chase have now reached the 14-week mark of their respective seasons and are now netting points by trying the replace the lowest weekly total with a higher one.

Trosclair continues to hold a three-point lead over Washington in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series points chase for the $10,000 Championship.  Trosclair netted one point with his third-place finish on Friday night at Malden Speedway driving the J. Dunning Sandblasting and Painting Special.

Washington netted one point with his second-place Malden Speedway run in the Jerry Inmon Racing Special.  Trosclair has 794 points at the top the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings and Washington has 790 points in the second spot.

Jeremy Shaw of Millport, AL netted six points with a fourth-place finish on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway driving the Summit Resource Development Trak-Star to move up to the third spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 790 points.

Duke Palasini of Leland, MS picked up his eighth win of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS driving the Palasini Farms Special.  Palasini, the 2011 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Runner-Up, netted three points and is now fourth in the standings with 788 points.

Ryan King of Seymour, TN netted two points with a third-place effort on Friday night at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN driving the Brian King Roofing Stinger.  King now has 786 points and the fifth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings.

Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS was unable to net any points in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 20 competition, but he still holds the sixth spot in the standings with 784 points in the Billy Riels Racing Trak-Star.  Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS also failed to net any points in Week 20 competition, but remains in the seventh spot with 773 points in the Billy Riels Racing/Reynolds Motorsports GRT.

Brent Barrett of Cleveland, MS was able to net two points on Saturday night with a fourth-place run at Greenville Speedway driving the Custom Spraying GRT.  Barrett is eighth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 771 points.  Holmes is ninth with 762 points.

Bubba Harrison of Cleveland, MS rounds out the Top 10 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 753 points.  Harrison netted eight points with a second-place run on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 20 action, Adam Beeler of Knoxville, TN drove the CVR Race Cars Special to his fifth win of the season on Saturday night at 411 Motor Speedway, and Joey Thomas of Seale, AL picked up his eighth win of the season on Saturday night at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL driving the BTR/Scorpion Race Cars Special.

Two-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion Jim McDuffie of Meridian, MS took his fifth win of the season in the McDuffie Racing Trak-Star on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS, and Robby Moore of Brosley, MO drove the D&K Truck Repair Special to his fifth win of the season on Saturday night at West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO.

Elvis Tuberville of Walker, LA took his first win of the season on Saturday night at Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS driving the Rabbit’s Mobile Home Transporter Warrior.  Friday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series events at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS and Penton Raceway in Penton, AL were rained out.

McDuffie’s win moved two-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL its 25th win of the season, and moved them back into a tie for the point lead with defending and four-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR.

Glisson’s two wins brought the win total for Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV up to nine and the third spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge standings.  Stinger Race Cars built by J.T. Kerr Racing Equipment of Rockford, TN is fourth in the point standings with six wins on the season.

Warrior Race Cars built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN is fifth after Tuberville gave them their fourth win of the season.  TNT Race Cars of Piney Flats, TN is still looking for their first win of the season.
