Jim Rouse (10-29-12) Ocala, FL – This week we will see the RaceCar Engineering Late Models join the Buddy’s Home Furnishings Limited Late Models, 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks, Barfield Law Group Mini Stocks, and Rent-N-Roll Gladiators for some major points in tight championship battles. Also, the Figure-8 Race will take place!
Mark Whitener continued his dominance of the RaceCar Engineering Late Models at the 1/3 mile with yet another win for the entire Big Frog Motorsports team. As he closes in on a championship he will still have to fend off the challenges from Ivedent Lloyd, Jr. and Bo Allen. Others like Richard Ferry, Christian Augspurger, and Jeff Mathews have visited Coors Light Winner’s Circle in a division that seems more wide open than ever.
JO Nobles, who may pull double duty again, will have focus on his Buddy’s Home Furnishings Limited Late Model as he must continue to fend off “Big Chief” David Showers. As the #18’s battle for a championship, the youth of Carter Stokes, Christian and Caleb McGillivray, Tyler Clem, and Billy Holmes will show what their made of against some of the best drivers in Florida and anyone could end up with the trophy.
Jonathan Appleby and Brian Mullins looked as if they would run away with the 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stock championship but Shane Nichols has clawed back into contention in the race. In fact, Nichols has won 4-in-a-row which ties Mike Stalnaker for the record in the Bubba Clem Era! Of course, Mullins and Appleby will call upon drivers like Brandon Elwood, Jason Gamble, and John Thorpe to end this historic streak from driver #65.
Barfield Law Group sponsors our Mini Stocks and the field may want to call them to stop Buddy Pope’s dominance. Pope has been tough all season long while Travis Staats has missed a few events and Reid Christensen has missed a few set-ups during the course of 2012. “Fluffy” Pope will try to lock this fight up but he’ll have to battle with the likes of Christensen, Staats, Dean Kinsey, and Nick Kerr to do it.
The Rent-N-Roll Gladiators season took a massive turn last week but, unofficially, Tony LaPorta still leads the standings with Steve Johnson and Brandon Haseleu clawing their way up the leader boards. Jordan McMillon hasn’t quite gotten win #2 in the books yet but he’ll try to play spoiler in the championship race. Haseleu and Johnson must win, win, win but with Kody Fisher and Reid Christensen joining the fight it’s gonna be that- a fight!
