WAYCROSS, GA (October 2, 2012) – The 2012 season for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series has produced another exciting year of racing as the season winds down to the final events of the year in October. The series will again visit two tracks that have been on the schedule every year since the series was formed in 2005. This weekend’s events will take place on Saturday Night, October 6th for the “Lucas Oil Dixie Shootout” in Woodstock, GA and Sunday Night, October 7th for the “Rome Rumble” at Rome Speedway in Rome, GA.

“It’s always fun to head back to the state of Georgia and see all the great fans in the south. The tradition and legacy that was set by the late Mike Swims is special at both tracks. We hope to again honor what Mike Swims has done for the sport and also remember the great Jimmy Mosteller who was a vital part of the Dixie and Rome Speedway over the years. Jimmy passed away back in July of this year and will be missed this coming weekend at two of his favorite tracks. He was a true gentlemen and an ambassador for our sport and helped mold the traveling touring series to what we have today”, stated Ritchie Lewis, Director-Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
