BRP LogoJim Rouse – Ocala, FL- The Bubba Army Late Models, Bubba Army Hobby Stocks, 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks, and Rent-N-Roll Gladiators put on an incredible show to reward the incredible fans at Bubba Raceway Park.
Our very own Bubba Army Hobby Stocks opened us up with outside pole sitter Mike Stalnaker snatching the lead away from Trevor Gamble. On lap six Devin Walker and Sean Monoghan ended a fantastic battle for fourth with their bumpers stuck together in turn one. Gamble would use the restart to take the lead away from Stalnaker, but the fight was far from over. Just past the halfway mark in turn one, Gamble slipped high and allowed Stalnaker to sweep below him to retake the lead. Just a few laps later Devin Walker, racing for his Grandfather who passed away during the week, encountered trouble in turn four. Stalnaker and Gamble went at it into turn one with Gamble nearly losing second to Heath Walker in the process. “Hometown Hero” Mike Stalnaker held on for his first win in the Hobby Stocks while Gamble had to settle for second. Heath Walker held on to finish third over Joe Belkey, Jr. and Joey Forsyth.
The Bubba Army Late Models started with Rich Pratt leading the early stint from his outside pole position. On lap fifteen JO Nobles attacked the Pratt as he struggled to bypass the lapped traffic of Dalton Myers. Pratt wouldn’t allow Nobles to check out, but Nobles would not be denied and he took the cash back to Nahunta. Pratt finished second to extend his championship lead, but was left wondering what could have been. Bryan Bernhardt finished a lonely third while Steve Mathis held Tyler Clem off for the fourth position. Our Bubba Army Late Models put on a spectacular show with a caution-free event that saw Rich Pratt and JO Nobles put on one of the best shows of the season.
Randy Strehle opened up the 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks with the lead, but Jeff Stalnaker, Jr. and Melvin Fockler had a heated exchange that ended with Stalnaker falling to the tail for the first caution. As he attempted to make his way through the pack, Brandon Tillander spun and beached his #73 in turn two on lap eleven that allowed Jason Gamble and Fockler to take a shot at Strehle for the win. They gave it their all, but Strehle was not to be denied and he led every inch en route to his second win at Bubba Raceway Park. Jason Gamble finished second in the Donnie Dobbins-owned #33 with Jeff Stalnaker, Jr. charging through the field to finish third. Melvin Fockler and Justyn Elwood completed the top five.
Stephen Frankland and Tom Sheehan put on a battle for the ages in a six-lap battle in the Rent-N-Roll Gladiators. Frankland led the full show but Sheehan was never too far behind. Stephen was excited in Victory Lane and Sheehan was happy to see a good performance from his #75.
