Sarver, PA (August 22, 2012) An entire year’s worth of blood, sweat and tears will come to a mudslinging crescendo Friday Night as the Budweiser Chase for the 2012 Track Championships comes to a close this Friday, August 24.  Jared Miley has already secured the Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Late Model Track Championship and Brian Swartzlander is seemingly just a pair of green flags away from his seventh Track Championship in the Diehl Auto Group DIRTcar Modifieds.  But, the Ti22 Performance DIRTcar Sprint and Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar Sportsman Track Championships will be decided on the Action Track.

In the Ti22 Sprints, Kevin Schaeffer and Rod George, a pair of former three-time Track Champions, will push off Friday night with one last title on the line.  Both drivers have stated/hinted that this is/could be their last season of regular competition.  Now granted drivers often utter such comments but come back year after year, unable to walk away from the sport they love, but there are fewer ways a driver can walk away more poetically than celebrating from Sheetz Victory Lane while celebrating a Track Championship.  Schaeffer rolls into Friday Night with a 16 point lead over George.

While a of veterans will battle for the Ti22 Sprint crown, a pair of young guns will be aiming for their first Budweiser Track Championship in the Pic-A-Part Sportsman/Stock division.  Corey McPherson and Jim Fosnaught have each enjoyed breakout seasons.  McPherson has a division leading five feature wins, while Fosnaught has reached this point with eight podium finishes (including his first career feature win) and a division leading 12 top fives.  With a 27 point deficit, Fosnaught will have his work cut out for him, but stranger things have happened on Championship Nights in the past, especially considering the ultra-competitive nature of the Sportsman division.  Regardless of who wins, one driver will forever etch his name in the Speedway Archives as a first time Track Champion.

The end of Fab Four Racing does not mark the end of the 2012 schedule.  The UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints will roll into Sarvertown next Friday, August 31 along with the 305 Sprint Warriors and Pic-A-Part Sportsman/Stocks.   The All Stars, featuring a trio of former Track Champions in Tim Shaffer, Dale Blaney and Danny Holtgraver, will be competing for a $5,000 payday!  Shaffer leads the overall All Star Points and just scored his 50th career All Star win last weekend at Butler Battlegrounds Speedway, while Blaney leads the Ohio Region Points.  The All Stars will be at Mercer Raceway Park this coming Saturday, August 25.
Once we reach September the Action Track will switch gears and transition to our Saturday specials starting with Autumn-Motive Fest 2012 featuring the Sportsman/Stock Spectacular on September 8, the “Back to School” Bus & Kid’s Bike Races on September 15 and the World of Outlaws Sprints Commonwealth Clash on September 22.

Then after a month of darkness, Lernerville’s gates will open one last time in 2012 for the finest race fans in the world of the Fourth Annual DIRTcar Round Up Steel City Stampede on Thursday-Friday-Saturday, October 25-26-27.
