Denver, NC – The impressive start to Brayton Haws career continued this past Saturday night at Hickory Motor Speedway. Haws has been in the top 3 after each event so far in his career and this night would be no different.
After drawing a mediocre set of tires, Brayton’s crew made adjustments to help tighten the car up on the exit of the corner. Haws ended up 7th fastest in final practice.
Steadily improving throughout the day, Brayton managed a 5th place qualifying effort. A disqualification in post qualifying tech would move Brayton up to starting in the 4th position in the 15-car field.
Brayton stayed on the bumper of 3rd place Sheflon Clay for most of the race, keeping pressure on him to make a mistake. A heated battle ensued when Casey Pierce joined the fight making it a 3-car battle for 3rd.
With on a few laps left in the race, Brayton was able to make his way by the 75 car of Landon Huffman and avoid a couple very sticky situations to bring the #25 Mechanical HVAC Services Chevrolet home in the 3rd position.
This marks his 4th top 3 finish in as many races as he continues his consistent streak.
“ Brayton has shown tremendous poise for his age. You can’t even tell he has only been doing this for 4 races. He has ice water in his veins and it only makes us want to work that much harder to give him the best car we can week in and week out. We have some big races planned later on in the season at Myrtle Beach, so it is important that we get him as comfortable as possible in the car now so he can adapt quickly to the change in tracks.” Said LFR VP Michael Faulk
Brayton Haws will race again at Hickory Motor Speedway on 6/15/13.
