The Florida United Promoters Series will open the 2013 season with the running of the 33rd Annual Ice Breaker 100 at Citrus County Speedway on Saturday March 2nd, 2013. This event has been moved to the track know as “The Friendliest Track In The South”. We are very appreciative that Mike Reed & Don Cretty were able to change their schedule to host this event. With the impending sale of Desoto Super Speedway it was in the best intrust of all involved to move the opening race. We wish John the best and look forward to the announcement of who will be taking over Desoto, stated series director Rick Williams.
The series will see the return of the Super Late Models competitors as they begin the quest to see who will be the 2013 FUPS Champion. Steve Dorer – 2012 champ, Tim Russell – 2011 champion will be entered to be challenged by 2012 runner up Jesse Dutilly, Jake Perkins, Jonathan Guy, Daniel Webster, Anthony Sergi, Jeff Scofield, Wayne Anderson who all have entered for 2013. There will be a very competitive “Rookie Class of 13” competing for the “Racecar Engineering Rookie of the Year Award” with Jessica Murphy, Anthony Cattaldi,Dylan Bigley & Randy Anderson all entered as contenders for this award.
Joining the Super Late Models for this opening race will be Legends, Bandoleros, OWM, Sportsman, Mini Stocks 50 Lap, Pure Stocks, and the Street Stocks.
There will be an open pratice on Friday March 1st for all classes from 5:00pm-9:00pm.. Saturday 3/2 the pit gates will open at 12:00pm., grandstands at 4:00pm. with racing starting at 5:30pm.. Follow the FL United Promoters Series at www.floridaunitedpromotersseries.com for more info to follow.
