By Icon 25 – In 2011, Pietro Fittipaldi went on to win the NASCAR Whelen All-American series championship in the Limited Late model division at Hickory Motor Speedway. He did this by capturing 4 wins and several top 5 finishes.

At age 15, Pietro is the older of the two brothers. The younger Enzo Fittipaldi competed in his first INEX sanctioned road course event this past Saturday at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

Enzo took to the track very well and made great strides taking the win in his first ever heat race. Enzo looked poised to take the feature win as well in the beginner bandit class until an altercation with another car with 2 laps to go took him out after leading the first 8 laps of the 10 lap event. Enzo went on the finish 10th in the bandit feature and took 2nd place in the beginner bandit class.

“We are very proud of Enzo’s maturity level at this point. When we first met the family, Enzo was the wild one. After watching his brother all year in the late model and being polar opposites he calmed down and is now very focused on the job at hand. We will win a few races in the Winter Series with him and hopefully move out of beginner bandos and into bandits at that point and be ready for the Summer Shootout,” crew chief, Michael Faulk stated.

Older brother Pietro is also moving up. He will compete full time in the Late Model Stock division at Hickory Motor Speedway and chase the rookie of the year and championship titles with Michael Faulk as his crew chief. Pietro will be running a brand new car built by Roger Johnson and Greg Marlowe at Performancenter with Harrington race engines. 2012 looks to be very promising for the Fittipaldi’s and Lee Faulk Racing.
