Donnie Hall returned to Modified competition Saturday night and wasted no time in his quest for his first Open Wheel Modified win of 2011. Brandon Spradley won in Sportsman while Nevin Gainey took top honors for Pure Stock. Florida Mini Sprint Association action saw Harold Matthews the winner and Kevin Underwood took his second straight in Box Stock.
Sportsman were the first division to take to the speedway for their feature event. Jamie Dayhaw took the early lead from the pole position while the rest of the pack scrambled for position. Brandon Spradley would move to the lead on lap two surging ahead from his ninth starting spot. Spradley would enjoy a comfortable margin up to the halfway mark when Kevin Davis moved to second and start putting the pressure on the leader. The lead pair would open up some distance between themselves and the rest of the field. The second half of the race saw Davis apply the heat and try to take over the lead but he would come up short on his efforts. For Spradley his first visit to North Florida Speedway was a good one as he took the win.
Nevin Gainey has been one the fastest in Pure Stock this year and that and some good fortune have seen Gainey as the man to beat. Outside pole sitter Andy Olson was unable to answer the bell for the feature and this would move Gainey to the second spot on the grid. From there it was all Gainey as he worked his way past pole sitter Jerry Fortner. But that would not be the end of the action. The battle for position behind Gainey would be entertaining and physical the rest of way. Jerry Fortner, Shawn Creech and Eddie Gainey would provide the entertainment the rest of the way as they would trade paint and sheet metal in a battle for position inside the top five. Meanwhile up front Nevin Gainey would stretch his advantage to a half of the track as he cruised under the checkered flag.

Tough luck would again strike the outside front row driver in the Florida Mini Sprint Association feature as John Crowder would retire to the pits before the race would get the green flag. Eddie Moss would lead the first three laps until a hard charging Harold Matthews would take over the top spot. A yellow on lap seven for a spin by David Hall would slow the action for the first time. On the restart an incident toward the back of the pack would see Dylan Colding end up with his car resting on it’s side at the exit of turn four. Justin Kolves would also suffer some damage and need a tow back to the pits. One more caution on lap ten would be the only thing slowing down Matthews as he would enjoy a comfortable margin over Eddie Moss the rest of the way.

Donnie Hall would have the pole for the Open Wheel Modified feature and he wouldn’t waste the opportunity as he took the early lead over Kyle Arvin. A caution on lap three would set up a restart that would see Shawn Taylor take second from Arvin. James Edgley would have a right rear tire go flat on lap five and bring out the caution. The field would get three more laps in when Arvin got out of shape on the backstretch and Johnny Mullner spun to avoid him. The following restart would see the second place car of Shawn Taylor come to stop in turn one ending his night. Hall would go on to the victory from there with David Crews second and Dave Wansley third.

Point leader Bryar Zimmerman would look to take the lead early in the Box Stock feature but contact with Billy Wilson would see Wilson scored as the leader for lap one. Lap two would see John Windham take over the lead. After a couple of cautions would slow the field Kevin Underwood was now in position to challenge Windham for the victory. Windham would hang tough but Underwood would make the pass and go on to his second straight win. Windham would hold on for second with Corey Crews taking third.
