Salem, IN (December 7, 2012) – Champion Racing Association Officials have released tentative working 2013 schedules for the ARCA/CRA Super Series and the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour presented by Chevrolet Performance at the IMIS Show in Indianapolis. There are 17 events on the ARCA/CRA Super Series 2013 schedule with 15 point events and two non-point Southern events. There are 14 events on the 2013 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour schedule with 13 point events and one non-points event. Both schedules do have the possibility of changing before being finalized in the near future.
Both series will open their 2013 season with SpeedFest 2013 at Watermelon Capital Speedway on January 26th and 27th. The event will consist of a 200 lap ARCA/CRA Super Series Southern non-points special event and a 100 lap JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance special non-points event. Both events will only count green flag laps, a change from previous seasons. There will be a halfway break at lap 100 for the 200 lap ARCA/CRA Super Series event.
The 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series Northern points’ season will kick off with its annual opener at Anderson Speedway on April 13th and will end with its traditional season points closer, the Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway on October 13th. In between those dates series competitors will see mostly traditional events at series tracks, but will have a track returning and a totally new track in a state the series has not competed in yet.
The ARCA/CRA Super Series will have two new “Combo” events on the 2013 schedule with the newly announced ARCA Midwest Tour based in Wisconsin. The first event will be on April 20th at Toledo Speedway, the second event will be on August 11th at Madison International Speedway in Oregon, Wisconsin. Both these events will have increased purses and bonuses for the traveling teams. The Madison event will be the first ever ARCA/CRA Super Series sanctioned event in the state of Wisconsin.
The ARCA/CRA Super Series will include once again the prestigious Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway and the popular Rowdy 251 at Berlin Raceway, which will be a point’s race for the first time ever. Both of those events will have increased purses for the 2013 season. Other traditional stops in 2013 include Springport Speedway, Lucas Oil Raceway, Dixie Motor Speedway, Flat Rock Speedway and the series will return to an old friend, Baer Field Speedway just outside Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
The ARCA/CRA Super Series will close out the 2013 season with another non-points special event, the prestigious All American 400 Weekend at the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, Tennessee. That event will be a co-sanctioned event with the new Southern Super Series. It has been almost three years since CRA was last involved with the historic All American 400 event.
The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour will tentatively begin its 2013 points season on April 6th at Illiana Motor Speedway. The 2013 schedule will include traditional stops at Springport Speedway, Columbus Motor Speedway, Dixie Motor Speedway, Berlin Raceway as part of the Rowdy 251 weekend, Anderson Speedway, Lucas Oil Raceway, Auto City Speedway, Owosso Speedway and Winchester Speedway. The series also has a tentative date to visit the High Banks of Salem Speedway for the first time ever. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour will be paired up on the same event with the ARCA/CRA Super Series for a record seven events in 2013.
