13 Super Late Models came to the green for their 35 lap feature with Randy Anderson (4) on the pole with his sharp looking new body. Anderson would jump out to the early lead with outside pole sitter Drew Brannon (82) falling into the second position. Brannon would go to work on Anderson for the lead right away, taking away the top spot on lap 6. Brannon would bring 6th place starter Herb Neumann Jr (98) with him to the 2nd position. The field would be slowed for it’s 1st caution at lap 11 for contact between Todd Brown (23) and Steve King (16). Brannon would try to pull away on the restart, but Neumann Jr was following right on his bumper. The field would fall under caution again with only one lap remaining for a spin involving Scott Grossenbacher (09) and Chad Pierce (57). Pierce would take blame for the incident, sending himself to the rear, and Grossenbacher back to his position. Brannon would survive the one lap dash to take his 1st victory at Citrus County Speedway this season. Herb Neumann Jr (98) would have to settle for the 2nd position, just ahead of Anderson in 3rd. Dale Sanders (1) and George Gorham Jr. (10) were your heat race winners.

10 Modified Mini Stocks took the green flag for their 20 lap feature with Rick Kuhn (47) on the pole position. Kuhn would jump out to the green flag lead, but James Ellis (98) wasted no time going to the lead before lap one was in the books. Ellis would lead until a lap 5 caution for debris would slow the field for a restart. Ellis would lead the field back to green, but soon face pressure from Clint Foley for the lead. Foley would make the pass for the lead at lap 9, both drivers would battle side by side for two laps, until Foley was able to squeeze by for the lead. Foley would go on to take his 9th feature win of the season, and his 9th heat win earlier in the night for a clean sweep. Ellis, the only man to beat Foley this season, would settle for the 2nd . Chris Hooker would make his return to racing action, with a strong 3rd place finish in his first outing of the season.

11 Street Stocks saw Bubba Martone (98) launch from his outside front row starting spot to the early lead of the 20 lap event. 8th place starter Kyle Peters (53) would make his way to the front by lap 16, and challenge Martone for the lead. Peters would make the winning pass, but Martone would follow close behind till the checkers. Peters would go on to take the victory with Martone following in 2nd, and Tim Wilson (85) taking the 3rd spot. Peters and Dora Thorne (48) were your heat race winners.

15 Pure Stocks watched Carl Peters (39) jump to the early lead from his 3rd starting position for their 20 lap feature. Peters looked to be headed to victory, but on lap 16 he would suffer a mechanical failure, sending him to the pits for the night. This handed the lead over to last weeks winner Karlin Ray, Ray would go on to take his 2nd victory in a row, and third of 2012. Following Ray to the line were Nicholas Malverty (17) in 2nd, and Eugene Malverty (123) in 3rd. Peters and Eugene Malverty were your heat race winners.

Eric Sharrone survived 40 trips through the intersection to take the victory in the Street Stock figure 8 division. Coming home in the 2nd position was points leader Jimmy Kruse (82), followed by David Ross (33) in third.

Kyle Stoner (7) out dueled  Daryl Veltman (55) to take the victory in the 15 lap hornet feature. Kyle is the son of veteran driver Fred Stoner, and looks to have what it takes to follow in his fathers footsteps.

The Southeast Champ Kart Series had the most competitive race of the night with the lead changing hands 5 times in their 20 lap feature. In the end, Trevor Wilson (38) would make a last lap pass on Ed Brilhante (05) to take the victory. Brilhante would have to settle for the 2nd spot after leading twice in the highly competitive event. Jason McGonnel (94) would come home in the 3rd position. Ron Sanford (29) was your heat race winner.

 

This Saturday night will be an action packed night with 7 divisions of racing. Headlining the night will be the Floral City Animal Clinic 50 lap race for the Mini Stocks. This will be the divisions biggest event of the year, and should draw a great field of cars. Joining them will be the Open Wheel Modfieds, Sportsman, Street Stocks, Hornets, Dwarf cars, and the Outlaw Modified Mini’s. Gates open at 4pm with racing taking the green flag at 6:30pm sharp.
