Toledo, Ohio-August 24, 2012: Sunshine and blue skies greeted race fans and teams for Friday’s Glass Bowl Lanes Season Championships and Autograph Night at Toledo Speedway. Ron Allen, Dennis Whisman, Kyle Huston and Perry Marlow were crowned the 2012 track champions. Jim Froling, Gary Cronenwett, Huston and Jeff Wells Jr. captured the feature events of the evening and visited the Sun Drop Winner’s Circle. The fans took part in the on-track autograph session prior to the start of the race card. The track also hosted Armed Forces Night, with all military personnel admitted as guests for Friday’s event.

The 40 lap ARCA ACME Dismantling Sportsman championship feature saw Jim Froling hold back the race-long challenge of Ron Allen to record the victory. The lead duo scooted away from the rest of the pack and put on a 2 car battle, with Froling claiming the win over Allen, Howard Kelley Jr. Kevin Stahl Jr., Kenny McKay Jr., Andy Harding, Norm Lewallen, Kent McCloskey, David Frantz and Jeff Myers Jr. Alllen’s 2nd place run gave him the 2012 track title. Froling set quick time at 17:415, with heat wins to Kelley Jr. and McKay Jr.

“The Rebel” Dennis Whisman applied the pressure to Gary Cronenwett for the 25 lap distance in the ARCA Parts Galore Championship feature, with Cronenwett recording his first-ever Toledo win. Whisman rode home second and claimed the 2012 championship. Greg Studt was third, Archie Padgett fourth, Ian Jezylo fifth and Nick Bradley sixth. Studt captured the heat race win.

16 year-old Kyle Huston led from start to finish, and in the process the win also put him in the championship position for the ARCA R & M Recycling Street Stock division. The top 10 drew for their start positions and Kyle selected the number 1 spot. He took off at the start and kept the lead all the way to the checkered flag. Randy Padgett Jr. made his way through the pack to take second, Eric Huston was third, Matt Bunting fourth and Rick Cousino fifth, followed by James Good, Matt Ringger, Don Cox, Jeff King and John Rabideau. Huston also set fast time with a lap of 11:589. Heat races went to Eric Huston and Rabideau.

Jeff Wells Jr. was the victor in the 20 lap ARCA 4 Cylinder main event, working his way around Tom Fry Jr. and Mike Marlow to grab top honors. Perry Marlow got by his son Mike late in the race for second, securing his first-ever track title belt. Mike Marlow, Fry Jr. and Megan Osenbaugh completed the top five. Wells set fast time at 12:896 and swept the night by also taking the heat race win.
