09212013-2 500pxJim Rouse, Ocala, FL – The Limited Sprints, Limited Late Models, Hobby Stocks, E-Mods, and 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks will all take to the track and will race for $1000 if the car count reaches 21 cars.
The Limited Sprints hit that number (21) last time and drivers learned which lines to cross and which to not cross. Matt Kurtz took the win after tech disqualified Mark Ruel, Jr., but Kurtz has a new ride for the rest of the season. With Brandon Grubaugh, driver of the #G6, really pressing hard to get that number again, the racing should be great with quality and quantity the name in the Limited Sprints.
Tyler Clem took his second career win last time out in the Limited Late Models and it built up his led over Chuck Jackson to 34 points. Everyone else sits over 100 back, but Tim Powers and Nevin Gainey will be gunning for Clem to try to steal a win way from the eleven year-old’s playground.
The Hobby Stocks have 17 year-old Devin Walker atop the standings by an impressive number as Sean Monoghan tries to stay alive in the title fight. Brian Shea is now over 400 points out in third. Mike Stalnaker is up to fourth and could overtake Shea in the next event, as could Hunter Gustafson who is just two points behind Stalnaker. Who would’ve thought that the teenagers- Gustafson and Walker- would lead the division in wins?
The Name Game describes the E-Mods as Shane Nichols lead Shane Taylor by 15 points and Taylor leads his brother, Shawn Taylor, by a further 17. Charlie Howard, Jr. sits 100 back and Roy Crain is 38 more back. Bubba has said he wants to see the E-Mods out in full force this week-end and a $1000 prize sits just over the horizon.
William Gillam and Brandon Elwood have separated themselves from the rest of the pack in the 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stock championship. Gillam leads Elwood by 13 points, but Elwood currently has tie breaker with two wins to Gillam’s one. Brandon Tillander took a career best third place finish and is now tied for third in the championship with Melvin Fockler who has hit a rough patch recently. It’s anybody’s title in a great fight in the 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks.
Pits open at 4, grandstands at 5, and racing is scheduled for 7. For more info, please visit www.bubbaracewaypark.com or call us at 352-622-9400!
