Excitement Builds for East Bay Winternationals
WAYCROSS, GA (January 29, 2014) – Officials of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series are excited to head to the sunshine state of Florida again this year for its second stop of the 2014 season. The stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will travel to East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Florida for the 38th Annual Winternationals at the famed “Clay by the Bay” for a week of action-packed events in early February.
Officials of East Bay Raceway park have been steady working on the facilities and the track itself in preparations for this years events. New clay has been added to the racing surface combined with a racer friendly tire rule put in place by the LOLMDS, fans are sure to see some thrilling racing all week long. The Winternationals, held at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL will consist of an open practice on Sunday, February 9th, from 6PM to 9PM and six full nights of racing, from February 10th through 15th. Each day, the Drivers Meeting will be at 5:15PM (ET), Hot Laps will begin at 6:00PM, and racing will begin at 7:00PM.
The Winternationals will offer racers over $200,000 in purse money over the six nights of events. Two additional starting positions will also be added to each night’s feature event, giving 26 drivers a chance to earn a coveted Winternationals feature win. The 25th starting position will go to the driver that fails to transfer into the feature event through the heat races or B-mains and who was the fastest in qualifying among those drivers.
