Pancoast and Morris Remain Undefeated

Sad news had lingered in the air all night as word of a member of the PGS racing family had been injured in a race at another track. Punta Gorda Speedway owners and staff continue to keep the Morr family in their thoughts and prayers. It was tough staying focused on the nights racing events but some great talent showed up to put on some of the best racing action.

First feature of the night was the Cowboy Cadillacs and Jeff Debble of Port Charlotte tried again to hold off Stuart Vandevender as they battled for the lead. (more…)

Six Grand Reasons

By- Jim Rouse

Top Gun Sprint Cars, Scorpion Racing Products Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, 1-800-ASK GARY Thunderstocks, Barfield Law Group Mini Stocks, and Rent-N-Roll Gladiators battled for points and cash on Night Of A Thousands.

Hobby Stocks started the night off with a 20 lap battle. Devin Walker spun to avoid Trevor Gamble’s rare spin as Howard O’Steen, Mark Maresca, and Don Woosley led the field. Just 1 lap later Kyle Morse got loose and after contact with Ronnie Whitley he smacked the wall ending driver #82’s night. As the laps wound down it looked as if O’Steen had it but with just 4 to go the 88H broke ending the strongest run of his career. Rodney Wright took the win as Darran Jackson, Chad Scranton, Mike Stalnaker, and Mark Maresca completed a solid top 5.

The Scorpion Racing Products Modifieds were 2nd and a good show it was. Larry Mott spun on lap 1 from 2nd and took Scott Mooers, Kyle Bronson, Chuck Gustafson, Jr., Ronald Soltis, Mark Whitener, Jim Passino, Jeff Mathews, and Garret Stewart with him. The damages for Stewart, and Gustafson were terminal. However, Dalton Lanich was leading with Passino and Tyler Clem giving chase. Lanich started to pull away but slowly making ground was Buzzie Reutimann. (more…)

Super Six For One Thousand

Jim Rouse, Bubba Raceway Park Media

Scorpion Racing Products UMP DirtCar Open-Wheel Modifieds return as do the Top Gun Sprint Cars, Hobby Stocks, 1-800-ASK GARY Thunderstocks, Barfield Law Group Mini Stocks, and Rent-N-Roll Gladiators. Six of the toughest divisions at Bubba Raceway Park will attack the track and run for more of those valuable points and the $1000 prize on Night Of A Thousands!

Kyle Bronson’s winning streak went up in a cloud of smoke. A pretty big cloud too. Bronson holds a 15 point lead over Rich Pratt and hopes to build upon it while Pratt looks to steal some momentum from his strong run in the Late Model and maybe get that first win of 2012 and end the Hammond Motorsports reign. FUPTS at Citrus this Week!

5-14-12 – After a wild and tumble event at Auburndale Speedway, which saw some banging but yet some real good racing, the series heads to Citrus County Speedway for race three.

Jessica Murphy would take the big win at Auburndale after starting 7th on the grid. She made some good moves and took advantage of some banging in front of her to lead the most laps and take the win. Jim Cowhey Jr. who started 12th made his way up to grab the 2nd spot with a last lap, last corner bump and run move on Tim Sozio who would hang on for third after running a good smooth race. (more…)

Webster Dominates Super Late Model Field at Citrus County Speedway

Daniel Webster (33) returned to Citrus County Speedway this past Saturday night after running some out of town tracks the past month. Webster took his talents north, to Anderson, IN to run in the ARCA/CRA super series. Webster had never even seen the track before, and managed to survive one of the toughest tracks in the Midwest. Webster came home with a solid 6th place finish against some of the best driving talent in the country. Webster then visited another track he had seen before, but never driven. Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola was his next stop for one of the Blizzard 100 races that lead up to the well know Snowball Derby. Again Webster ran well inside the top 10, before a crash with 2 laps to go, collected him ending his night. (more…)
