Day Continues On Southern Superstars Roll At Sayre Speedway

20130528-194444.jpgSAYRE, AL–The Southern Superstars Short Track Series returned to the ¼ mile Sayre Speedway Saturday night for the Hall Of fame 100 and Mark Day of Clarksville, TN., done what he has done all year with the series and that is win, as he picked up his third win of the season with the series and 9th career win.

Chase Oliver of Crossville AL., set fast time with a 12.60 second lap, Day second quick and Hunter Spivey of Decatur, Al., third. Oliver then rolled three for the inversion and this gave Spivey and Day the front row. (more…)

ARCA/CRA Super Series at Springport Motor Speedway this Saturday

20130528-194109.jpgSalem, IN (May 28, 2013) – The ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS will head to Springport Motor Speedway located in Springport, Michigan for this Saturday’s Springport 125. Saturday’s race will be the second series race held at Springport Motor Speedway after last season’s exciting event that was won by Johnny VanDoorn after a grueling battle with Becca Kasten. The two battled side by side over the last 10 laps swapping the lead several times until VanDoorn was able to use the last car on the lead lap as a pick to get the lead for the last time and the win. Nate Caruth finished in third, Travis Braden fourth and Kenzie Ruston in fifth. (more…)

DEDWYLDER TAKES SECOND-STRAIGHT NeSMITH CHEVROLET DLMS WIN AT THE MAG

20130527-132414.jpgCOLUMBUS, MS – Scott Dedwylder of Vossburg, MS gave his car owner Chase Washington some more “Race Track Therapy” on Sunday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway by driving the Jerry Inmon Racing Special to his second straight NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series victory in the Salute To The Air Force 40.
It was a successful weekend for Washington, both on and off the track. On the track, Dedwylder earned $4,425 in three straight nights of NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series racing at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS on Friday, where Dedwylder finished sixth, and then took the win on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS. Five Feature Races Take Stage at Plymouth Speedway

20130526-132934.jpg(Plymouth, Indiana) After a week-long concentrated effort to help condition the dirt surface at Plymouth Speedway, five classes of drivers found much racier conditions which provided for an exciting night of racing at the fastest dirt track in Northern Indiana, which wrapped up just after 10 p.m. ET.

The Thunder Stock 20-lap feature was caution-free and only two cars were on the lead lap by the time the first place car crossed the start/finish line. The winner, Bryce Shidler, who was scheduled to graduate from school on Sunday, ran the high groove and found speed to get the top spot. (more…)

Richards Overtakes Fuller On Final Lap To Capture Jackpot 100 Presented by NAPA Opener At Tyler County Speedway

World of Outlaws Late Model Series Points Leader’s First-Ever Feature Win In Home State Of West Virginia Comes In Dramatic Fashion

20130526-133952.jpgMIDDLEBOURNE, WV – Josh Richards found a truly memorable way to capture his first-ever dirt Late Model victory in his home state.

The 25-year-old superstar from Shinnston, W.Va., pulled off one of the most dramatic triumphs of his career on Saturday night, passing Tim Fuller of Watertown, N.Y., on the final circuit of the 30-lap World of Outlaws Late Model Series A-Main that kicked off the Jackpot 100 Presented by NAPA Auto Parts weekend at Tyler County Speedway.

Richards beat Fuller to the finish line by a mere 0.154 of a second for a win worth $6,150. It was the third WoO LMS victory of the season for the tour’s two-time champion and current points leader, who happily tasted success in his native Mountaineer State for the first time in his 10 years as a dirt Late Model driver.

Owens Leaves No Doubt in Winning Third Consecutive Show-Me 100

20130526-133755.jpgWHEATLAND, MO (May 25, 2013) – Jimmy Owens’ dominance of Lucas Oil Speedway continued on Saturday Night as the veteran driver notched his third consecutive Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 Presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com. Owens took the lead on lap 11 from Scott Bloomquist and was virtually unchallenged the rest of the way, picking up the $30,000 for his win in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and Lucas Oil Midwest Racing Association co-sanctioned event.

Owens now has won six races at the track since 2010. Chris Simpson came home in second; his best career finish in a crown-jewel event. Dennis Erb, Jr. charged from 20th to take third. Brady Smith also made his way to a top five finish, grabbing fourth after starting 22nd. Chad Simpson would round out the top five, climbing from 24th to fifth at the finish. (more…)

Memorable Action On Memorial Day Week-End At Bubba Raceway Park

20130526-133138.jpgJim Rouse, Ocala, FL- The Bubba Army 360 Sprints headlined the night with the Scorpion Racing Products UMP DirtCar Open-Wheel Modifieds, Hobby Stocks- who raced for $750, 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks, and the Rent-N-Roll Gladiators taking part as well.
The Scorpion Modifieds kicked the action off and Rich Pratt took the Woodstown Ice and Coal #78 right to the front. Pratt, a heat race winner, ran a dominant race and won easily over the other heat winner Bryan Bernhardt and Chuck Gustafson, Jr. In fact, Pratt nearly lapped Gustafson and beat Bernhardt by over 13 seconds. Pratt now has at least 1 win in each season he’s driven the #78. Chris Littrell was the first car 1 lap down in 4th and Jeff Stalnaker, Sr. finished 5th after a 3,000-mile flight earlier in the day. Keith Nosbisch Wins Late Model Feature Preparing For Scott Thomspson Memorial Race On June 15th At East Bay Raceway Park

20130526-005923.jpgMay 25th, 2013 – Tampa, FL – Five divisions were on hand tonight as the Late Models, V8 Warriors, Outlaw Fours, Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers and the Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds were ready for action at The Clay By The Bay East Bay Raceway Park.

First feature of the night went to the V8 Warriors. Winning their heats were Jeff Weaver and Raymond Folwell. Derek Gray and Kevin Cassaday would make up the front row for the feature event. The green flag waved and it was Derek Gray taking the lead on lap one until Raymond Folwell took over on the very next lap. Caution would come out on lap two when Brian Danforth broke and hit the turn four wall ending his night. The green waved and it was Folwell slowing in turn two with a right rear flat handing the lead over to last week’s feature winner Marco Reyes. (more…)
