Dylan Bigley wins Florida Pro Truck Challenge Series race at 4-17 Southern Speedway

On Saturday night the Florida Pro Truck Challenge series made their first trip of the year to the 4-17 Southern Speedway in Punta Gorda, FL. This race would see lots of action and many lead changes but when the smoke settled it was Dylan Bigely that landed in victory lane, in his brothers number 28 pro truck. Dylan broke the track record in qualifying and started 6th in the race.

Weekend update and racing schedule for Florida this weekend

An Update from all of us at Karnac.com and Sunshine State Racing.

We will Post a weekend Schedule tomorrow.

As of right now, we are monitoring all updates and in communication with our local tracks. They will notify us of any changes in schedule if necessary. As soon as we receive the updates we will pass them onto you. Unfortunately alot of the tracks are under city/county rules and it may be out of their hands.
We will plan to cover the tracks that are open and operating this weekend as normal. Our radio show will proceed as always Saturday.

Mega Lawn Mower racing invades the Dirt track at 4-17 Southern Speedway this weekend

That is right on top of all the regular karting action this weekend the Lawn Mowers are back to put on a show and race for some big prize money this weekend at the Dirt track located inside the infield of the 4-17 Southern Speedway. This is a show you will not want to miss and you can get up front viewing of the whole show for with a pit pass at a very low cost. That’s right this weekend the Pro trucks and the Sportsman we be center stage this weekend at Showtime speedway as they both do battle for 50 laps. George Gorham Jr. Wins the Madi Gras 100 brought to you by Sunoco Race Fuel and WPCV 97.5

On the Saturday after Fat Tuesday George Gorham Jr. was able to party after winning the Madi Gras 100 at Auburndale Speedway. The 100 lap Super Late Model race brought to you by Sunoco. After a string of bad luck at the end of last season Gorham is off to a good start this season with a 4th place finish last weekend at Showtime Speedway and then coming back for a win at Auburndale. Gorham was able to put his black #03 Ace Wrecker, Senneker Performance, Mike Garvey Racing car in the Victory lane, he was followed by Brother in-law Matt McCrary and Daniel Webster.

Granger Perra Takes home win in Pro truck 50 at 4-17 Southern Speedway

Granger Perra takes the win in a race that saw some bad luck for some and some carnage for others at 4-17 Southern Speedway Saturday night. The pro trucks battled it out for 50 laps in a race some used as a tune up for the Florida Pro truck Challenge series race that is scheduled to take place on March 14th, at the track in Punta Gorda.

Danny Caylor takes win for the 75 lap street stock race at 4-17 Southern Speedway

It was the fourth race on three Saturday’s already this year for the street stocks at 4-17 Southern Speedway in Punta Gorda. An early series of races where owners Joe and Janet Gentry offered a $500 bonus to anyone who could win 3 of the 4 races. With Danny’s win on Saturday he was the third winner which means no one was able to step up and collect the bonus. Chris Huntoon took advantage of the pill draw and had his number 30 out front for the first 55 laps until the rear end decided to let go. When the race was over and dust had settled Caylor found his #7 Street stock the winier for the night. Full results of the streets stocks are below.

The Brandon Ford Wheel Man Series returned to action on Saturday night at Citrus County Speedway. It was another great Wheelman race with a stout field that saw Brooke Storer Bringing home the victory.
