George Gorham Jr. Takes Rusty Crews to Victory Lane and brings home 10 in prize money at Showtime Speedway

It has been a hard few weeks for George Gorham Jr Racing and Family, as they get back to racing after loosing long time family friend Rusty Crews. Saturday night was an emotional night for the whole family and team as after the invert George would Start on the pole for the second leg of the triple crown at Showtime Speedway.
George would go wire to wire to bring home the win and the 10k payday for the small family team. The team would go on to say you see us right here this is all of us and we work hard everyday to compete with these teams.
George will be on the Sunshine State racing Recap Show Monday night at 8:15 to talk more about the win.

Press Release February 26th, 2021; Deland Florida: Joey Maxwell, Founder and CEO of The Studio Creative Group, an Emmy Award winning Film Production company, is proud to announce the unveiling of their latest project “Short Track Warriors”. This will be a cinematic high energy Documentary Series that follows carefully selected drivers and teams that are competing on short tracks at an elevated level for Championships in a travelling Series. The Docu-Series will follow racers throughout the season on both asphalt and dirt short tracks.
The Pilot Episode is scheduled to be released this Spring, Joey Maxwell says “We are currently in Post Production, the Pilot Episode introduces our first three drivers and their families both on and off the track, and delves into their personal lives as well as their history and future within the sport”.
Executive Producer, Racer and Promoter Tom Whipple says “Each subsequent episode will follow a similar format as the Pilot, we will be introducing new drivers and industry experts as we follow our teams throughout the season. At the end of the year someone will win a Championship, and it may or may not be one of our featured drivers”.
Short Track Warriors is named to describe the drive, dedication and determination of the people involved in the sport of Short Track Racing. The dictionary definition of a Warrior is “a brave and experienced soldier or fighter who is very strong and doesn’t give up easily”. The Warriors are not always just the Racer, but the Family, the Team Members and those that support the effort it takes to compete at this level.
Accomplished Writer and Series Director Kevin Kimball says “We will take you behind the scenes, into the pits and into the lives, homes and families of the men and women behind the wheel and lift the visor on these Short Track Warriors”.

Dave Steele World Non Wing Sprint Car Championship 125 Set for Showtime Speedway this weekend

February 23, 2021 – Pinellas Park, Florida – Showtime Speedway today announced that BG Products has added a $500 bonus for this Saturday’s 2nd annual “Dave Steele World Non Wing Championship 125”. BG Products will award $500 to the leader of lap 44 during the 125-lap feature.
In addition, just yesterday, Mac Steele announced that he and his wife Carol are awarding the fast qualifier of the event a $500 bonus. Mac and Carol are the parents of the late Dave Steele.
Showtime Speedway today amended one item in the 2020 Little 500 rules that this weekend’s event is being governed by. The current rule off offset on the right side of the car measured from the cent of the rear end to the outside of the right rear tire is 43 inches. Showtime Speedway will give an additional inch which now makes it 44 inches.
This weekends events can be viewed as a Pay-Per-View on www.speed51.tv for those unable to attend.

Florida Southern Ground Pounders participate in the World Series of Asphalt at NSS on Same night as The Richie Evans Memorial

On the Same Night as the Richie Evans Memorial 100 at New Smyrna Speedway, the Florida Southern Ground Pounders took to the track for a 20 lap feature. Before that some of the cars were on display out front of the track for the fans to get an up close look at the old school race cars.
