Troy DeCaire Dominates to take the win in the BG Products Southern Sprint Car Shootout Series at 4-17 Southern Speedway

Troy DeCaire Dominates to take the win in the BG Products Southern Sprint Car Shootout Series at 4-17 Southern Speedway

In a brand new car with a new paint Scheme Troy DeCaire goes out and laps the entire field except for second to take a demanding win at 4-17 Southern Speedway.

Below Troy explains the new paint Scheme:

Man some things you just can’t make up….. Last Night we debuted out Senna Tribute car. Won the heat and lapped up to second in the Feature.
Then I wake up today and it is brought to my attention. Today would have been Ayrton Senna’s 61st Birthday.
The racing world lost a great Ambassador of the sport 27 years ago. But he still has such an impact of racers of every discipline today. A luminary with immortal legacy. Simply, Senna was the best. And hopefully last night we did our part to honor him. Happy birthday champ.

Dodge Carlbert Picks up first win in Open Wheel Modified at 4-17 Southern Speedway

It had been over a year since the Open Wheel modifides raced at 4-17 Southern Speedway on Saturday, It was also one of the very first times the Dodge Carlbert had taken any laps around the speedway.  Dodge was getting more and more comfortable with the track as the day went on and was holding his own during the races.  There were a few late race cautions and dodge used them to his advantage and was able to hold off a tough  challenge from second place finisher Troy Robinson to pick up his first win both at 4-17 Southern Speedway and his his open wheel modfied.

Bigley and Perra battle for Pro truck win at 4-17 Southern Speedway last Saturday night

Bigley and Perra battle for Pro truck win at 4-17 Southern Speedway last Saturday night

A Bigley in victory lane and this time it is not Dylan, that’s right Corey Bigley took his spot in the winners circle this past Saturday night in the pro truck 50 lap race at 4-17 Southern Speedway.  But Granger Perra did not make it easy on him.  Granger lead most of the race before having to go to the back for jumping the start penalty, but quickly made his way back up to second and put pressure on Bigley for the win.  After the win Bigley took the Sunoco Checkered flag for a ride around the track before celebrating with family and friends.

Michael Shelton and Josh Gorniak with their Hialeah Speedway roots still getting it done on the track in the V8 Bombers

Michael Shelton and Josh Gorniak with their Hialeah Speedway roots still getting it done on the track in the V8 Bombers

Two Drivers who spent many Saturday nights at Hialeah Speedway and learned the roots of short track racing are still at it today.  Michael Shelton and Josh Gorniak now call 4-17 Southern Speedway home but their driving style and passion from the sport still bleed Hialeah Speedway.  I am pretty sure Josh grew up watching Mike Shelton before actually racing him self but now they both take to the track in the V8 Bombers and have fun doing it.  For you who remember Hialeah Speedway you know it was a tough crowd of racer but also a family, and that is still true.  Mike and Josh and others all help each other in the pits before the races and one they are on the track it is all for them selves for the win.

Saturday night after a tough long day in the pits for Shelton, that found Gorniak and the Bigley crew helping thrash on his car he would take the feature win, and you guessed it Josh was right behind him for second.  The memories and smiles flowed in victory lane with these two great competitors.
