Orlando FL 1-18-12 – The Florida United Promoters Late Model Series heads into the 2012 season with a renewed optimism and new staff.

The series has added the services of Rick Williams as a series and race director for the 2012 season. Rick comes to the series as a well known fuel supplier for Florida short tracks, and for past touring series since 1986. Rick traveled with the All-Pro series in the late 80’s then with the Florida Pro Series in the 90’s. Rick is a family man, his wife Brenda of twenty nine years and children Lauren 26 and Ricky 24 are his driving force. 

    Rick had this to say about his goals and the officials he has brought aboard.

“We are very excited about the 2012 season…we have an opportunity to take series racing to the next level here in FL., we are expecting car counts to increase

 and with the support of some good sponsors this came be accomplished.

 We are providing competitive racing at some very historic Florida tracks for the racers,it is Going To Grow”.

 “I am proud to announce the additions of Mike Rensberger as Head Tech Inspector, Mike comes to the series with many years of experience as Head Tech man on the Florida Pro Series and at Columbia Motorsports Park  as well as some other special race events. Mike lives in Starke FL. and owns MRRE Engines Inc. He is married to his wife of three and a half years Kathy.

Jimmy Blake will be the Assistant Tech Inspector. Jimmy worked with the Tropical Thunder Series at Hialeah Speedway in the 90’s and crewed and worked on race cars 1993-2007.

 “I am also pleased to announce the addition of Rick Bristol to the series to head up PR and announce for the series. Rick has 25 years of announcing and officiating experience. He was long time announcer for the Florida Pro Series and Sunshine Speedway along with announcing at Orlando Speedworld, New Smyrna Speedway and Volusia Speedway. He has been married for 28 years and has two daughters Amanda 27 and Sara 21. He is the current series director for the new Florida United Pro-Truck Series and promoter of the Charity 200 race weekend.
