Icon 25 – It took only two races for Enzo Fittipaldi to find victory lane in the beginner bandit division at Lowe’s Winter Heat series. Due to a lack of car count, the beginner bandoleros were run together with the bandit class this past Saturday afternoon at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
The younger Fittipaldi has taken to the transition from karting to bandoleros in a very short amount of time. Enzo won his heat class and and finished 5th overall in the 11 car heat race.
The feature race would not be much different for Lee Faulk Racing. Enzo started in the 8th position overall and moved his way up to 6th place by the end of the race. 6th place was good enough to win his class as well. The 10 year old driver was happy to win his first bandolero race and also eager to move up.
“Enzo was happy with the win but also showed concern to me after the race about moving up to the bandit class to race since there are only around 5-6 beginner bandits to race with. If I give him the bigger plate he’ll be able to run with the bandits and be on level playing ground. As it is now, he is running with them mid pack but doesn’t have the steam to get to the front. I think we will keep him where he is and get a little more experience and then make the move.” Faulk said after the race.
LFR plans to run Enzo in every Winter Heat series event and then prepare for the Summer Shootout on the oval.
