Sunday morning the pits opened at 10:00 and the Front gates opened at 11:00 with track Chaplin Richard Stone holding a church service.

It was great to hear that everyone was having fun and though some parties were held till wee hours of the night or morning, everyone behaved them self very well. It was time to get the last show of the weekend going and some were feeling a little more sluggish than others but it was time to go racing.

Bandoleros came out and saw the Noah Weaver sweep the weekend with a pair of wins, second went to Clyde Tucker and third Sam Audie.

Legends were up next for a thirty lap feature and since it was a non points race some choose to sit out.

The 85 of Drew Carter jumped out to an early lead with Dakota Baggette second and Matt Blankenship third. Cory Abbott took over the lead on lap seven and went on to win the race with Baggette second and Blankenship third who also set fast time in qualifying.

Intermission saw the Grasscar Lawnmower exposition, man do those things get around.

There was a Super Late Models driver intro and then it was time to buckle up and go racing.

Scott Walters from Naples sat on the pole while fast qualifier Steve Gill of Sarasota was outside third row. The green dropped and the 92 of Michael Cenzi who was front row outside had a bad start and never recovered and brought out the first caution. Racing got back underway and it was all Walters who seemed to have the fastest car running in first while B.J. McLeod had his hands full of Dustin Dunn who was all over his bumper wanting that second spot. Dunn did everything he could to get by McLeod for the first fifty laps as they started to lap the field and then Dunn started getting pressure form Wayne Anderson who had made it up to third. Walters was liking the view as he was running a few car lengths out front while they were all behind him trying to get by McLeod. Anderson made his way around Dunn on lap fifty three and Amanda Ferguson coming down the back stretch trying to get by lap traffic hit hard into the turn three wall ending her night but got out of the car OK. On the restart it took Anderson two laps to break his streak of bad luck and get by Walters and go on to win the feature. Walters hung on strong in the second spot while Billy Bigley Jr was on the move running in fifth behind Dunn. Bigley took over the points lead after race number 3 but was only eight points behind Anderson, and twenty five laps to go Bigley’s car was running hot. Bigley had to have a lot of thoughts driving those last twenty five laps, do I pull off, is my motor going to make it, do I chance it or go for broke and try to win a championship. Bigely gave it all and passed McLeod with five to go ended coming in third with car spraying all over as he pulled it into the podium third spot winners circle. B.J. Mcleod held on for fourth and Dylan Bigley ran a great race finishing in fifth. Hats off to Trey Miller who ran his very first race and it was 100 laps in a super Late model and finished eighth. Billy Bigley Jr, ended up winning the points season by six points over Wayne Anderson.

The last race of the night was the “Thundering Head” of Road Warriors that were nineteen cars strong and what a race it was to finish off a great weekend full of racing. Four drivers choose to start in the rear of the field for bonus money, fast qualifier Chris Scott, Jeff Harbin of Bartow, Shane Leonard of Cape Coral and Rick Reed of Punta Gorda. The 29 of Alan Seay started on the pole with Richard Nelson outside and the green flag dropped and it took two laps for nelson to get by Seay bringing Derrick Horton with him for third. Derrick Horton muscled his way by Nelson for the lead on lap twelve. Jason Miller had a strong car but got called for spinning Nelson on lap fourteen and a lot of cars took that time to make a quick pit stop. Poor Jeremy Perkins in the 22 that had to pull off twice because his car caught on fire and finally called it a night. Horton was running strong as the leader while the 89 of Johnny Allen had made his way up through the field for the second time. Five laps to go

Allen got by Horton for the lead and Scott was trying to get by the 80 of Nelson and neither one would lift or give and down the front stretch wall they went and Nelson hard into the wall. Nelson had to pit for a flat tire and came back out for the restart. Johnny Allen hung on for the first place finish while Shane Leonard came in second Miller third Horton hung on for fourth and Reed fifth.

What a way to end a great weekend and time to rest up with next week off then the final points night for some classes will be Dec 10th and thanks to everyone that helped out to make the weekend a “HUGE” success.

Remember Bob video taped the entire weekend and check out all the great photos that Robert took and you can purchase any photo from Rhonda in the Photo shop.
