CARTERSVILLE, GA – The 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series season has come to an end with three Top 10 drivers in the point standings picking up Week 27 victories.  Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS took a Friday night win, while Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS and Cliff Williams of Star, MS took Saturday night wins.

Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS is the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Champion with a perfect best 14 week total of 700 points.  For the season, Daspit had a series-leading 15 wins, 28 top five finishes and 31 top ten finishes in 34 races driving the Billy Riels Racing Trak-Star.

Daspit will receive a points fund check for $10,000 and a new Trak-Star chassis from Boland Performance of Cuba, AL at the NeSmith Racing Annual Awards Banquet in January at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville, GA.  Each of the Top 10 drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings will be recognized at the Awards Banquet.

Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS will be the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Championship Runner-Up with a best 14 week total of 694 points.  Palasini turned in nine wins and 15 top five finishes in 22 races driving the MP Trucking Trak-Star.

Lee drove the Billy Riels Racing GRT to his eighth NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series win of the season on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA netting two points to secure the third spot in the standings with a best 14 week total of 691 points.  For the season Lee had eight wins, a series-leading 29 top five finishes and a series-leading 32 top ten finishes in 36 races.

Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL and Williams each had a best 14 week total of 686 points, but Dudley won the tie-breaker with more wins to take the fourth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings.  For the season, Dudley has nine wins, 15 top five finishes and 17 top ten finishes in 17 races driving the Zaxby’s Rocket.

Williams took his fifth NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series win of the season on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS to net nine points.  For the season, Williams had five wins, 18 top five finishes and 21 top ten finishes in 26 races driving the Star Plumbing Trak-Star.

Arnold drove The Strength Center Trak-Star to his seventh win of the season on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS to net six points and secure the sixth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 681 points.  For the season, Arnold had seven wins, 16 top five finishes and 19 top ten finishes in 28 races.

Jeff Glisson of Boaz, KY finished seventh in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 673 points.  For the season, Glisson turned in three wins, 12 top five finishes and 15 top ten finishes in 19 races driving the SGR Equipment Rocket.

Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS finished fourth on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway to net one point to bring his best 14 week total to 670 points and the eighth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings.  For the season, Scarbrough drove the Villa South Trak-Star to two wins, 16 top five finishes and 27 top ten finishes in 36 races.

Robby Moore of Brosley, MO drove the Custom Race Cars Trak-Star to a fourth-place finish on Sunday afternoon at West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO to net one point and take the ninth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings.  For the season, Moore has one win, 16 top five finishes and 25 top ten finishes in 25 races.

Ronnie Cooper of McKenzie, TN rounds out the Top 10 in the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 665 points.  For the season, Cooper has one win, 12 top five finishes and 15 top ten finishes in 16 races driving the Ronnie Cooper Trucking Rocket.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 27 action, Chris Holley of Houston, TX took his fourth win of the season on Saturday night at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX driving the Holley Racing Special.

Tyler Allen of Navarre, FL drove the Powerhouse Motorsports Trak-Star to his first win of the season on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL.  Jason Hughes of West Plains, MO closed out the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series season on Sunday afternoon with his first win of the season at West Plains Motor Speedway driving the Gary’s Tire and Automotive Rocket.

Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL has won its third NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Championship with 53 wins on the season with Week 27 victories from Arnold, Williams and Allen.  Trak-Star Race Cars were also driven to six of the Top 10 positions in the point standings.

The 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Champion Daspit, the Championship Runner-Up Palasini, fifth-place Williams, sixth-place Arnold, eighth-place Scarbrough, and ninth-place Moore were all in Trak-Star Race Cars.

Four-time NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR finishes in the second spot in the Chassis Manufactures Challenge standings after Lee’s win gave them their 31st win of the season.

Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV is third in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge with 28 wins after a Week 27 victory from Hughes.  Warrior Race Cars built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN is fourth seven wins.

Also participating in the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge were Stinger Race Cars built by J.T. Kerr Racing Equipment of Rockford, TN, TNT Race Cars of Piney Flats, TN, and CVR Race Cars of Lenoir City, TN.
