Orlando FL. 7-23-2012 – Series Director Rick Bristol has announced today an addition to the series officials for the Florida United Pro-Truck series. In an effort to improve the series and in listening to some series drivers, crews and other people that Rick has respect for he is making the following addition and change.
“I am happy to announce today that I have hired Shawn Reutimann to be the race director for the Florida United Pro-Truck series and our final 5 events for the 2012 season. My goal has always been to make this series about the people that race in it, the people that work to make it successful. I am a big fan of the Reutimann family, I have great respect for them and what they have accomplished in racing and in life. I have watched Buzzie since I was a kid in NY growing up, announced Wayne, David and others as they have raced in events that I have announced and I have always seen them act professional and with class. That is why when I heard Shawn had interest in race directing I jumped at the opportunity to bring him on board for our series. I am excited to have him on board and look forward to working with him Carl Green and Eric Reynolds as we continue to try to make this Truck series where people want to race, because it is fair, fun and as affordable as it can be” stated Bristol.
This will allow Rick to over see everything and be more involved with issues and communication needed at the events. He will also be able to spend more time hosting potential sponsors and VIP’s at the events. Rick will be involved with meetings at nights end and tech when needed.
Shawn Reutimann had the following comments on this opportunity. ” I was honored when Rick called me about helping him with the truck series and becoming the race director. I feel that my 7 years as a spotter in Nascar for David and listening every week to how Nascar calls a race gives me a different perspective than some people. I am looking forward to this experience and working with everyone in the series from the other officials, to the drivers and their crews”.
Shawn’s work will begin Saturday night September 8th at the Citrus County Speedway for race six on the series. Other races to round out the year will be another date at Citrus and at DeSoto Super Speedway, Showtime Speedway and Auburndale Speedway. Go to www.fupts.com for the schedule and updates !
