 After just a short break from racing action, Volusia Speedway Park is kicking things into high gear for a new decade. Volusia Speedway Park will be hosting the “January Jump-Start” on the weekend of January 22nd to the 24th featuring $2500 to win main events for the DIRTcar Sportsman and DIRTcar Street Stock divisions.

An Open Practice for all divisions starts out the January Jump-Start weekend on Friday, January 22.  Pits will open at 5:00pm with practice running from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.  Pit admission is $15.  Grandstand admission will be free for the practice night.

On Saturday, January 23, the pits will open at 4:00pm.  Grandstand gates open at 5:30pm.  Racing starts at 7:30pm featuring DIRTcar Sportsman, DIRTcar Modified and DIRTcar Street Stock qualifying heat races plus full programs for 4-Cylinder Challengers and Mini-Stocks.  Mini-Stocks and 4-Cylinder Challengers will race for $500 to win.  Sportsman and Street Stocks will be working on starting positions for the Sunday 40-lap Main Events paying $2500 each to win.  Modifieds will be setting the slate for a 30 lap main event on Sunday paying $1500 to win.

Racing action continues on Sunday, January 25 with consolation races and main events for the DIRTcar Sportsman, DIRTcar Street Stock, and DIRTcar Modified divisions.  In addition, Thunder Stocks will be in action with a full program ending in a 20-lap, $500 to win main event.  Pit and Grandstand gates will open at noon on Sunday with racing starting at 2:00pm.

There are no entry fees for DIRTcar members for the January Jump Start events.  All participants must have purchased their 2010 DIRTcar license to receive payout.  DIRTcar licenses are mandatory at Volusia Speedway for all participants in 2010.

Adult grandstand admission is $12 for each night of racing. Students ages 11-15 will be admitted for $6 each night and children ages 10 and under will be admitted free.  Drive-in parking is $10 per car – a 2 day drive-in parking pass is $15.
