After some more conversation with the Mini Stock drivers a new format for their 50 (was 100) lap special race coming up was hashed out. The MS race running on September 25,2010 is now “75” Laps!
And the race details including the pay out follow:
Friday night practice (9/24).
Satuday (9/25) Mini Stock Special (Points count).
75 laps
$25 entry fee
Stop at lap 35 for fuel and air pressure adjustments only.
Then Race the last 40 laps.
Goodyear, hoosier, or American Racer tire are allowed. Must punch no less than
50 on the durometer.
The payout:

Featuring three days of free music from Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle and his band Southern Rock’s Finest, including members of Allman Bros, Outlaws, Marshall Tucker, Pure Praire League. Cajun and Zydeco music from Neon Leon’s Zydeco Steakhouse along with their great cajun food. Also an exhibit of autographed guitars, gold records, rare photos and Skynyrd’s Rock&Roll Hall of Fame trophy. Gene Odom of Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Rolling Stones will be on hand autographing his books. Much more non stop action packed entertainment of all sorts for all ages. Friday night on the Courthouse Square and Sat. and Sun. at Wallace Brooks and Liberty parks. Absolutely free.

Citrus County Speedway will be having a race car show in downtown Inverness on 10/9 at City hall, located at 212 W. Main St in Inverness. The car show will start at 10am and run until 2pm. You must drop your car off in town, and then return your trailer to the speedway, there is no place to park your trailers downtown. At 2pm all cars will receive a police escort to the race track from downtown. Yes, you will be able to driver your race cars down the street to the speedway.
This is a great, cost free, opportunity for you to get some exposure for yourself and Citrus County Speedway. All drivers who bring their cars will receive one free pit pass for participating. We have 25 spots reserved and need a nice cross section of cars from every division. If you’re interested, call (352) 726-9339 or sign up at the speedway office on a race night.
Drivers Meetings:
Starting on 8/21, we will be having a roll call for 1 random class at the drivers meeting each week. If you are not in attendance, or do not send a representative to attend the meeting, you will be forced to start in the rear of the feature for that night. The only acceptable excuses for not attending would be car problems, medical emergencies, ect. And even then, you need to have someone there for roll call. This way there will be no reason anyone should say ” I didn’t know”.
