Winning at Ocala sure is a trick, according to most drivers, but plenty of drivers will be looking to add their names to the list of 2010 winners. The Late Models, Amsoil V-8 Thunderstocks, Mini Stocks, and Gladiators will all run on this up-coming night of action. It is Halloween weekend and there will be trick-or-treating and a costume contest at Ocala Speedway. It should be an exciting night for everyone.

The Late Models were at Ocala just 2 weeks ago for the Fall Nationals where Tyler Ivey dominated and took home the big win. Ocala points leader, ‘The Magic Man’ Mark Whitener, looks to spray some dust up and build on his 56 point lead. J.O. Nobles will chase him with an undying spirit, but will be looking out for 3rd place Phillip Cobb whom is just 19 behind Nobles. ‘The Professor’ Ivedent Lloyd, Jr. looks to move in on 3rd, the spot he’s only 4 points behind, and move away from 5th place Christian Augspuirger. Augspuirger is only 12 points behind ‘The Professor’ and wants that 4th place points finish. An exciting night of racing is in store!

Ocala’s own Mini Stocks run this week and ‘Hot Shot’ Keith Briggs looks to win his 7th-in-a-row. However, Briggs is not at the front of the points battle; that belongs to the Kerrs. Nick Kerr leads Dan Kerr by a mere 12 points in a season long battle between family members. ‘Hot Shot’ is 121 points behind Dan Kerr and is chasing a win streak, not a championship trophy now. Buddy Pope looks to attack Briggs because Pope’s only 2 points behind Briggs. Johnny Zackery is 5 points behind Pope and the battle for 3rd-5th could happen to be the most exciting of them all.

When the Amsoil V-8 Thunderstocks ran last, Scott Mooers won a cool $1000 and moved in on Mike Stalnaker in the points. The season seems to have belonged to Stalnaker, though, and he currently leads Mooers by 129 points. Mooers has been in a long battle with Chris Shea over 2nd and Shea won’t let that battle end because Shea is only 3 points behind Mooers. Vaughn Woodall has moved into 4th place and he currently runs 59 points behind Shea and Woodall runs 14 ahead of Brian Shea. The real battle, it seems, is for 2nd in points, but at Ocala, nothing is for certain.

The Gladiators have had a very exciting season and Matt Shea has pulled away in the last couple of weeks. Devin Walker refuses to stand back and watch Shea win that title, and Walker needs to make up the 33 point deficit to win it himself. Casey Feaster has had a bittersweet season. Feaster has won 10 races at Ocala in 2010 and he’s won a title at Volusia, but a little bad luck has Feaster in 3rd, 121 behind Shea. Steven Johnson is 30 points behind Feaster and would love to take 3rd in the championship battle. In 5th place is Kyle Morse and he runs 233 points behind Shea. The Gladiators are bound to have another exciting race and it could severely shuffle the points.

Ocala Speedway opens the gates at 5PM and racing starts at 8. Kids, remember to wear your Halloween costumes! Ticket prices are as usual and for more information, you may call the Speedway or visit www.ocalaspeedway.com.
