Tripleheader Weekend Ahead for Team
Ocala, Florida (04/10/18) – Big Frog Motorsports owner Augie David Burttram is pleased to announce that he’s added Dawsonville, Georgia’s Donald McIntosh to his driver roster for the 2018 season.
The talented 25-year-old ace will make his debut this weekend – April 12-14 – in the M&W Transport #58 XR1 Rocket Chassis Super Late Model as the team competes in a trio of events in North Carolina and Tennessee. (Heath Lawson pic)
“I think it’s no big secret that Donald is one of the most-talented up-and-coming drivers out there, and it’s exciting to have him drive one of our cars in select events,” Burttram said. “He’s had some bad luck in his own equipment to start the year, and after some talks we decided that it made sense for him to enter some events for us when both his schedule and our schedule allows.
“With his experience and our equipment, I honestly believe that we can contend for some wins this weekend. I greatly appreciate all of our backers, who are making it possible.”
For McIntosh it’s a great chance to aim for some big wins at some familiar tracks.
“I’m always excited to go racing, but I’m really excited about this weekend,” McIntosh said. “These are three tracks that I know well, so hopefully I can deliver great results all three nights. I can’t thank Augie (Burttram) and his team enough for this awesome opportunity.”
The team will kick off their three-night swing on Thursday evening at Ray Cook’s TriCounty Racetrack (Brasstown, North Carolina) with a $1,500-to-win, unsanctioned event. On Friday evening the action moves to the wicked-fast Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tennessee), where a $5,000 top prize will be on the line for the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series. The ultra-busy weekend draws to a close on Saturday evening at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tennessee) as the team battles for a $10,052 top prize in the annual Scott Sexton Memorial. The event will also be sanctioned by the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals.
