OCALA, FL- Florida’s oldest speedway will present a special event this Friday night, April 9th, as the Top Gun Sprint Car Series will return to Ocala Speedway to challenge the toughest 3/8ths mile in the southeast. In addition to Florida’s most exciting touring sprint car series, Ocala fans will thrill to the excitement of Ocala’s own Tee Pee Tire Hobby Stock Division, as well as the Amsoil V8 Thunder Stocks and Mini Stocks.
The Amsoil V8 Thunder Stocks were on the track last Friday night and saw Augie Burttram battle hard with Michael Stalnaker on his way to victory. Eddie Lentz, who was buzzing around in a Gladiator last year, placed second last Friday in his new Thunder Stock machine, and hopes that trend will continue this week. Sean Babcock, who is back in the 5W again in 2010, was the third place finisher last Friday night.
The action will get underway at Ocala Speedway at 8PM on Friday night, with heat races, followed by any needed B mains plus the feature races. The pit gate will open at 2PM and the grandstand ticket office and gates will open at 5PM. Please visit www.OcalaSpeedway.com to check “special event” pricing or to see the 2010 racing schedule at America’s Dirt Track, or call the track at 352-622-9400.

BARBERVILLE, FL- The Daytona Dodge-Chrysler Late Models will return to action this Saturday night along with four other divisions as Volusia Speedway Park presents “Monster Energy Drink Night” at the southeast’s fastest half mile! Joining the late models will be the Budweiser Modifieds, the Daytona Sportswear Street Stocks, the Amsoil Synthetic Lubricants Thunder Stocks, plus the 4 Cylinder Challengers. Everyone will be eligible for free Monster Energy Drink Giveaways, and the kids will get into the competition with a Kids’ Quarter Toss!
Two weeks ago Ocala’s Ivedent Lloyd Jr. spoiled David Clegg’s party when a late race caution set up Lloyd on Clegg’s rear bumper. Ivedent Lloyd made the pass and raced to a convincing victory over the rest of the Daytona Dodge-Chrysler Late Models that night, and with a week off to think about it David Clegg certainly will be looking to prevent that scenario from happening again this weekend. Clegg is still the points leader going into this weekend’s action, but Joe Kump and Jason Davis are only 29 and 30 points behind him, respectively.
The Daytona Sportswear Street Stocks will fight it out to see if Trevor Gamble of DeLeon Springs can rack up another first place trophy. Gamble overcame Phillip Brown and Bubba Christian to seal the win last week, and will be ready to defend his victory this Saturday night, and build his lead in the points battle as well. Phillip Brown trails Gamble by 43 points going into this week’s races, while Mike Eubanks is 60 points behind the leader.
Fans leaving Volusia Speedway last Saturday night only thought that they knew who won the Amsoil Synthetic Lubricants Thunder Stock race as they saw Randy Strehle celebrating in Victory Lane. But a post race challenge was refused by the temporary winner, resulting in a disqualification that gave the victory to Scott Mooers, and extended his points lead in the division. The Strehle versus Mooers saga will undoubtedly continue this Saturday night, as the Thunder Stocks go racing again, and fans will want to be there to see how it all plays out. Mooers is up by 84 points over Jim Goempel and Robert Shrunk, his closest competitors in the points race which are currently tied for second place. Randy Strehle has now slipped to the fourth spot, 85 points short of his nemisis.
And so far this season Shawn “Beavis” Kosier has won all three 4 Cylinder Challenger races at Volusia Speedway Park, but other racers have served notice that they intend to break his streak this Saturday night. There were plenty of movers and shakers in last week’s race, as Casey Feaster raced from a 15th spot on the starting grid to a third place finish, and James Sullivan fought his way from 18th to fourth. Can Shawn Kosier keep the streak alive? Can RJ Glaser overcome a 52 point deficit and catch him? Find out as yet another strong field of 4 Cylinder Challengers is expected to battle it out this weekend.
The grandstand gates will open at 5:30PM this Saturday night and racing action gets underway at 7:30PM. Be sure to visit www.VolusiaSpeedwayPark.com for a complete schedule of events and for more information, and do not forget to pick up your advance tickets for VSP’s “Rasslin’ & Racin’ event coming up on April 24th.

Barberville, FL (March 31, 2010) It is that time of year when little girls dress up in pretty dresses. little boys don new pants and shirts and the Easter Bunny makes a visit to all the children. Saturday night at Volusia Speedway Park will see the Easter Bunny make a visit to all the kids with an egg hunt and Easter goodies. As they say, “Here Comes Peter Cottontail, Hopping Down the Bunny Trail” straight to Volusia Speedway Park.
Children are more than welcome to bring their Easter baskets for Easter fun and the adults will not be left out either as they will see plenty of Easter racing action with the Budweiser (Quality Brands) Open Wheel Modifieds, Taylor Racing Products Sportsman, Daytona Sportswear Street Stocks, Amsoil Thunder Stocks, and 4 Cylinder Challengers.
The Budweiser Open Wheel Modifieds were off last weekend along with the Daytona Sportswear Street Stocks but two weeks ago it was Jamie Carter topping the Modifieds and Trevor Gamble topping the Street Stocks. That was Carter’s first win of the 2010 season and Gamble’s second win. Can they make it repeat wins?? You will have to be there to find out.
Although the Daytona Dodge Chrysler Jeep Late Models are off Saturday night at Volusia, it is David Clegg leading the points so far this season over Joe Kump, Jason Davis, Donnie Chappell, and Darell Padett.
Going into Saturday night’s action, it is Jamie Carter leading the Budweiser Open Wheel Modifieds over Jeff Matthews, Larry Burkins, newcomer Garret Stewart and James Smith who are tied in fourth and Dale Murray and Kent Corbin who are tied in fifth. Both Matthews and Carter have one win under their belts going into Saturday night’s action.
Aaron Barsness won the first two races in the Taylor Racing Products Sportsman division but it was Steve Shead who topped last Saturday night’s feature. Barsness currently leads the points for the Taylor Racing Products Sportsman over last year’s Champion Shaun Daugharty, Paul Shead, Matt McGillivrary and Steve Shead.
The Daytona Sportswear Street Stocks have seen Trevor Gamble win both of their feature events this year. Gamble currently is the points leader for the Daytona Sportswear Street Stocks followed by Tim Hughes, Phil Brown, Steve Oldaker and Mark Maresca.
If you were one of the lucky fans who were at Volusia last Saturday, you saw the biggest field of Amsoil Thunder Stocks since the division was started in 2009. Scott Mooers made it two in a row for the division and is the current point leader over Randy Strehle, Courteney Eubanks, Kelly Snyder, and Robert Calmes, Jr.
The largest field of 4 Cylinder Challengers so far in 2010 put on a great show last Saturday night as Shawn Kosier topped the feature. Kosier had done what few could do last year and beaten Tony Laporta who won the majority of races last year. Kosier currently leads the points over Larry Langston, Scott Sullivan, James Smith, Sr., and RJ Glaser.
The Pit Gate will open at 4 pm with the grandstands and drive-in parking opening at 5:30 pm. General Admission on Saturday night is $12.00, Seniors $10.00, Students 11 – 15 $6.00 and children 10 and under are FREE. Drive-in parking is $10.00 per car plus General Admission.
Don’t forget, kids bring your Easter Baskets for the Egg Hunt and visit from the Easter Bunny!!!
Volusia Speedway Park is located 15 miles west of Ormond Beach, FL on State Road 40. Additional information and updates will be available on the website – www.volusiaspeedwaypark.com, or call 386-985-4402.

Race fans will certainly get their moneys worth this Saturday night at
Auburndale Speedway as the Auburndale Trucks make their first appearance of the year and will be joined by nine other racing divisions including the Sportsman, Mini Stocks, Street Stocks, V-8 Bombers, Scramblers, Legend Cars, Bandoleros, Dwarf Cars and the Kids Club.
The Trucks are scheduled for a 25 lap feature paying $400 to win. The purse is not subject to the number of trucks entered so expect some typical slam-bang nose-to-tailgate action Saturday evening.
The Sportsman cars return for their third run of the year and everyone is trying to figure out how to beat the “Ancient Wonder” Dave Dunkin. The veteran driver from Lakeland has driven his “Blue Goose” to back-to-back wins and seems to be getting better with age as he knows every nook and cranny of the old speedway.
Youth is being served in the class as young rookie driver Austin Carr is
second in points, some 22 behind Dunkin, and looking better each week. The Mini Stock class now has defending champion Fred Harrison, Jr. tied for the points lead with Chris Spring after his win last week. Both drivers have now scored a pair of victories this year. Chris Narramore, Sr. is third in the point chase, just six back of the leaders.
The Street Stocks are back after a well-deserved week off to pound out a few dents. Rookie Matt McCrary still leads the standings by six points over Jeff Waterman while defending class champion James Wright III is now 18 back of the frontrunner.
Josh Borem continues to have things his way in the V-8 Bombers as he’s opened up a lead of 42 points over second place Buddy Phillips, Jr.
Meanwhile, Kim Gullett has taken over the top spot in the Scramblers by six markers over Matt Johns who has been inactive since a crash three weeks ago. When you win the first three races of the year, it’s a given you’ll be leading the points and that’s just what Jake Perkins is doing in the Legend Car division. Despite his perfect score, Perkins is only six points ahead of Gerald White, Jr. Defending champion Justin Brown and Mason Ketterman are tied for third right now.
NOTES: In honor of the Easter weekend, drivers will be handing out Easter candy during intermission, so make sure to bring the kids. All kids age ten and under, as happens each week, will get an extra ticket as the enter them front gate. Those tickets will give them a chance at winning nice prize packs courtesy of Lindsey’s Little Racers. There is no truth to the rumor that Rex Guy will be dressing up as the Easter Bunny.
The track has announced that the April 17 open-competition Late Model race will pay a whopping $3,000 to win for just 100 laps. Entry fee is $100 but will be adjusted lower for teams traveling 100 miles or more one-way to the speedway.
The second School Bus Figure 8 race of the year is set for next Saturday, April 10.
Lindsey’s Little Racers will be giving away another pair of bicycles on
April 17th.
If you haven’t been to Auburndale Speedway in awhile, one big change is the addition of new speakers on the grandstand side of the race track.
Pit gates open at 2PM this Saturday. Grandstand gates open at 5PM with racing at 7PM.

TV Showcaster and parent company Post FX Digital Video are taking their regular Saturday night webcasts one step further as you can now watch previous weeks events at any time for free on the TV Showcaster web site.
Feature event videos from the March 27th program at Volusia Speedway Park are now posted at http://www.tvshowcaster.com/race/internet_tv_race.htm for
viewing at any time. The service is totally free as are the weekly live
Saturday night webcasts.
In order to keep this service up and running as well as free, sponsors are badly needed. “We want to branch out to other race tracks and make a full season of it, but the costs are prohibative to do so without getting some sponsors,” says Dean Baker, founder of Post FX and TV Showcaster. “We aren’t looking to make a killing, just bring in enough money to cover costs, hire a crew and obviously make a few bucks.
Sponsorship is very affordable, and we’ll make sure our sponsors get their moneys worth,” he says.
Webcasts continue this Saturday from Volusia Speedway Park starting at 7PM and are currently sponsored by America’s Incredible Pizza.
OCALA, FL- Another exciting night of racing action is scheduled for Friday, April 2nd, as the official start of the championship points season gets underway at Ocala Speedway. All races run so far have been exhibition events, meaning that no points toward divisional championships were counted. Friday will mark the first points races for the Late Models, Amsoil V8 Thunder Stocks, Mini Stocks, and the Gladiators.
The extended holiday weekend will enable some racers to venture to Ocala Speedway who normally might have trouble making it in time for Friday night racing, and it presents an opportunity for some family fun at the track as well. The grandstand gate will open at 5PM with heat racing set to get underway at 8PM. For more information, or to see a complete schedule of events at America’s Dirt Track, plus admission prices and other information, please visit www.OcalaSpeedway.com, or call the track at 352-622-9400.
