Heat two the fans witnessed Orlando, Florida’s own Jody McKenzie #18 handily winning over Nicholas Snyder #116,Tony Sinquefield #13T who celebrated his birthday,Paige Moss #04,”Kat” Thomas acksonville’s favorite Gavin Thomas #7 with electrical engine woes and it appeared at first like Gavin would be out of the opening first points night of racing but wait there is more to follow.
Feature time saw Dirk Miller’s Todd’s Tomatoes Motorsports group offer a backup mini sprint to Gavin Thomas #X who would wheel the smaller 600 C.C. entry from the Todd’s Tomatoes stable.
At the drop of the green Ocala,Florida’s Sean Babcock #9 would jump out to the lead and was intially “hooked up” as he opened a twelve car advantage on the rest of the field until lap three when Father/Eddie Moss Jr. would “skirmish” with daughter/Rhea Moss #23 and Eddie would flip his #8 mini sprint out of competition for the night with heavy damage.
On the restart Deland,Florida’s Dirk Miller #68 would show the way and appeared to be on his way to career win #2 but a few others had different plans.
The top six mini sprints would battle for supremecy and absolutely great runs for Summerfield, Florida’s John Crowder #30,”Hollywood” Krueger #81 running third who would eventually drop back with fuel pressure issues and another great run by “Front” Paige Moss who was as high as third before she dropped out with problems.
John Kahl seem to be sitting back all this time until it was time to go and Kahl did just that with 7 to go and took command with Gavin Thomas #X driving the “600” getting by Miller for second making Miller#68 third,Nicholas Snyder#116 fourth and Johnny Crowder#30 with his best run in awhile fifth.
The 2013 “Showtime Tour” action picks up again this Saturday at the Hendry County Motorsports Park [March 16th]in Clewiston,Florida and returns to North Florida Speedway on March 23rd.
