Holland, NY (June 5, 2010)  Despite weather forecasters calling for thunder storms in the greater Buffalo area Saturday night. The bad weather that was expected cleared out around noon and the “Team Car Wars” Fans turned out in droves. A near record crowd of close to 6000 fans packed the grandstands of Holland Speedway in Holland, New York for the night of all out destruction and that’s exactly what they got !!!
Over 90 drivers from all over the country including drivers from Florida, Ohio, Pa, New York and several drivers from Canada filled the pit area with nearly 125 cars. The first event of the night was the compact enduro that produced a 70 car field. The cars were lined up 3 wide and 23 rows back that stretched from the start finish line all the way into turn 3.
When the green flag dropped the mayhem began! 4 red flags were thrown during the 75 lap race and when all the dust settled it would be the #7 car driven by Bob Wodzinski that would pick up the victory and the $3250 First prize money.
In The Chain Race it was the unlikely combination of Arcade New York’s Jay Murphy and Orlando Driver William Hindman who would take the checkered flag first.
The Flagpole race had a 25 car field. One red was thrown when the #42 of Matt Windsor made contact with another car going down the back stretch and flipped over in turn 3 nearly going over the guard rail. Matt did get out of his Ford ranger on his own but was latter transported to a local medical center were he was treated for a mild concussion . Thankfully Matt was released the next day and is reported to be doing well. When the checkered flag flew it was Orlando Florida’s Jim Erb who would win the race.
The Motor home Demo Derby was hugely popular with the fans at Holland Speedway pitting 2 drivers from Florida and 3 From the Buffalo NY area. For a while it looked like Holland’s own Marty Hughes was going to win but in the end it was Depew NY driver Chris Ardenski who delivered several bone jarring hits to Hughes army green M-1 pinning Hughes up on a barrier. Ardenski had the crowd on their feet as he delivered the final blows to claim the win.
The School bus figure 8 race which is always a crowd favorite proved to be extremely exciting with Holland Speedway’s track champion Marty Hughes and the M-1 tank found him self starting in the rear of the field directly behind Orlando Speed world champions Jim Erb and William Hindman.
Erb driving a bus owned by Arcade NY’s Jay Murphy was able to work his way through the field with William Hindman right on his back bumper and Hughes himmed up in traffic . After several close calls in the X Erb and his black bus found him self in the lead and Hindman in 2nd place with Hughes and the M-1 closing fast. With 3 laps left in the 15 lap feature Orlando’s William Hindman #32 bus started over heating and had to pull out of the race moving the M-1 of Hughes into 2nd place ½ of a lap down to the leader. In the end it Was Florida’s Jim Erb who claim the $1000.00 1st.place prize money.
The Boat & Trailer race saw a 21 boat starting field and as you would expect the track soon looked like a tornado had hit a boat yard. Every time a boat would come off and get hit the crowd would scream louder. When it was all done Depew NY Driver Chris Ardenski would bring his # 88 machine home with the win.
The night was caped off with a 33 car front wheel drive demo derby that lasted 29 min. after 2 red flags for rollovers the #30 of Tyler Haniszewski that looked like it had been run through a crusher was still running and Tyler would get the win and the $500.00.

The “Team Car Warz” crew would like to thank everyone involved in making the show such a huge success and we will see all of you September 11th.
