Anthony D’Alessio Picks Up First Feature Win In Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Sprints At East Bay Raceway Park

GIBSONTON — At East Bay Raceway it was Dustin Cates winning in the Micro Sprints, Jason Burnside in the V8 Warriors, Jeff Mathews in the Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds, Anthony D’Alessio in the Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Sprints and Thomas Adams in the 4 Cylinder Bombers.

In the first feature of the night it was Dustin Cates starting off the year with a win as the defending Champion of the division. Picking up second was Wade Evans followed by Cliff Evans in third.

In the V8 Warriors it was Jason Burnside picking up the win with George Handy finishing second with Jeremy Simpson in third.

In the Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds it was Jeff Mathews picking up the win over Bryan Bernhardt who led most of the race and finished in second. Picking up third was Bill Howard, Sr.

In the Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Sprints it was Anthony D’Alessio picking up his very first win in the division with Justin Webster second and Tim George third. (more…)

Wednesday’s Event at East Bay Raceway Park Canceled

TAMPA, FL (February 15, 2017) – Wednesday night’s Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned, Wrisco Industries Winternationals – presented by E3 Spark Plugs at East Bay Raceway Park has been canceled. Despite tireless efforts to work the track following a band of heavy rain in the afternoon, Speedway and Series officials have been forced to cancel the event.

The 41st Annual Wrisco Industries Winternationals will continue with a $7,000-to-win program on Thursday night. The event will be a complete show with Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a $7,000 to win, 45-lap main event.

Richards Takes Tuesday’s Wrisco Industries Winternationals Victory

TAMPA, FL (February 14, 2017) – Josh Richards took the lead from Davey Johnson on lap five of the 25-lap main event on Tuesday night at East Bay Raceway Park during the 41st Annual Wrisco Industries Winternationals – presented by E3 Spark Plugs. Richards had to fight off fellow West Virginia driver, Tim Dohm for his seventh career win at “The Clay by the Bay.”

Richards, in the Best Performance Motorsports, Rocket Chassis, Dargie-powered entry earned the outside front row for the main event after a last-lap pass on Austin Hubbard in a pivotal heat race number three.

Hubbard in the Mid-Coastal Siding, Trinity Logistics, Rocket Chassis came home in third followed by Devin Moran in the Tye Twarog, Rocket Chassis and David Breazeale in the Henderson Motorsports, Moyer Victory Race Car who rounded out the top five.

“We made a lot of changes from last night, we worked our way back to seventh last night, so tonight was a whole lot better. The pass on Austin [Hubbard] on the final lap of that heat race was crucial. Davey [Johnson] started off good. We stayed right with him until we were able to get around him.” (more…)

Sheppard Takes Opening Night at Wrisco Industries Winternationals

TAMPA, FL (February 13, 2017) Defending Dirt Track World Champion, Brandon Sheppard picked up his first career East Bay Raceway Park victory on Monday night during the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned Wrisco Industries Winternationals – Presented by E3 Spark Plugs. Sheppard – who started fourth on the grid – drove the Mark Richards Racing, Valvoline, Rocket Chassis’ House Car to the win after taking the lead on the fifth lap.

Trailing Sheppard across the finish line were Earl Pearson Jr., Devin Moran, Kyle Bronson, and Brian Shirley.

Shirley led the first four circuits of the 25-lap main event until Sheppard came from the outside of the second row to take over the top spot. Sheppard then held off Pearson, who had started seventh, for the victory. It was Sheppard’s fifth career LOLMDS win.

“It’s good to finally get a win at East Bay. We have been coming here for several years and to do it on opening night this year feels great. In a short race like this you must get to the front as soon as you can. The car was good all night long. We could pass cars low and high and then we finally cleared Shirley. It was a good race up front. This Rocket XR-1 Chassis is just fabulous and the Durham Race Engine was flawless.” (more…)

Jeff Mathews Is The Third Different Winner On Night #3 Of The Sunshine State Mod Tour As David Reutimann Wins B-Mod Feature At East Bay Raceway Park

Tampa, FL (2/10/17) – It was local driver Jeff Mathews who set quick time in the Brandon Ford Fast Time Award.

For the 30-lap feature it was Imperial, Missouri’s Kenny Wallace on the pole with Zanesville, Ohio’s Brad Goff.

On the start it was Buzzy Adams charging from the fourth spot to make his way up front to battle with Kenny Wallace for the lead out of turn two. Adams would lead the first fifteen laps until Jeff Mathews battled with Adams at the line and taking over the lead.

By lap twenty two it was Mathews starting to get into lap traffic trying to pick and choose his line while Adams, Wallace and Strickler were all battling for the second spot.

When the checkered waved it was Jeff Mathews picking up the win after a second place finish last night. “I can’t thank my guys enough back at the shop for all their hard work to get us where we are. Also wanted to thank Lethal Race cars as this is a new car” Jeff also stated. (more…)

Overton Grabs First Career Lucas Oil Victory at Golden Isles

WAYNESVILLE, GA (February 10, 2017) The Rhino Ag Super Bowl of Racing – Presented by General Tire kicked off the 2017 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series season on Friday night at Golden Isles Speedway.

When race leader Billy Moyer Jr. left the main event with 13 laps to go, Overton inherited the top spot and went on to win his first career Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event.

Overton held off fellow Longhorn Chassis driver Tim McCreadie in the Sweeteners Plus entry at the finish. Jimmy Owens ran third in the E3 Spark Plugs, R&W Motorsports, Rocket Chassis. Completing the top five were Brandon Sheppard and Jonathan Davenport.

“I hate it for little Billy, but sometimes that stuff happens. We will take it any way we can get it. You never know what’s going to happen at the end of a race at this place. I want to thank Chip Stone, Randy Weaver, and all my sponsors for making this possible. This is a great way to start our season,” said Overton.

“It’s great to win here in my home-state. There was a really good crowd here tonight – the most I think I have ever seen here on a Friday Night. MIKE PEGHER, JR TAKES THE WIN ON NIGHT NUMBER ONE FOR THE 41ST ANNUAL WINTERNATIONALS AT EAST BAY RACEWAY PARK

Tampa, FL – The 41st Annual East Bay Raceway Park Winternationals for Crate Late Models got underway on Thursday night with 37 cars registered for Crate Late Model Event.

It was Walker Arthur from Forest, Va and Devin Dixon from Apollo Beach on the front row the the 30-lap Feature. On the green Mike Pegher, Jr. and Dixon got out front early and battled side by side for the first 10 laps until lap traffic became a factor.

Pegher, Jr. was able to pull away from Dixon mid race as Dixon slide back with Logan Roberson sliding into the second position and Horton moving up to third.

When the checkered waved it was Pegher, Jr. picking up his first win at East Bay Raceway Park traveling 16 hours from Cranberry Township, PA. Mark Whitener Wins Dalton Myers 54 Late Model On Season Finale At East Bay Raceway Park

Also picking up the wins tonight were Jimmy Baker in the Hobby Stocks, Dustin Cates in the Micro Sprints, Rhett Wilson in the V8 Warriors and Wayne Kissam in the 4 Cylinder Bombers.

In the Hobby Stocks 15-lap feature it was Jimmy Baker picking up his third win of the season over David McCormack and Buck Woodhouse.

In the Micro Sprints 15-lap feature it was Dustin Cates winning his eleventh win of the season over Dorsey Strickland and Josh Figler.

In the V8 Warriors 15-lap feature it was Rhett Wilson picking up his second win of the season over Brian Morgan and Marco Reyes.

In the Dalton Myers 54 Late Model feature it was Mark Whitener taking over the lead on lap 34 and going on to win the race. Coming in second was Devin Dixon and third was Doug Horton.

And in the final feature of the 2016 Season it was the 4 Cylinder Bombers 15-lap feature with Wayne Kissam picking up his second win of the season over Dave Wilber and Don R. Quinn.

GIBSONTON — At East Bay Raceway it was Devin Dixon winning the Donnie Tanner Memorial Race #4 Topless Late Model race. Also winning tonight was Billy Dukes, Jr. in the Outlaw Fours, Jon Basquin in the V8 Warriors, Jeff Lacey in the 4 Cylinder Bombers and Dan Darnell in the Florida Old Time Modifieds.

In the Outlaw Fours 15-lap feature it was Billy Dukes, Jr. picking up his fifth feature win of the season with Greg Pae finishing in the second spot with Mark Moniz third.

In the V8 Warriors 15-lap feature it was Jon Basquin picking up the first win of the season with Marco Reyes finishing second and Raymond Vann third.

In the Florida Old Time Modifieds 12-lap feature it was Dan Darnell winning over Jamie Frankland and Steve Parrish.

GIBSONTON — At East Bay Raceway it was David Reutimann winning for the second year in a row for the 3rd Annual Emil & Dale Reutimann Memorial for the Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds 50-lap topless feature. Also winning tonight was Jason Burnside in the V8 Warriors, Tommy Hill in the Hobby Stocks, Dan Darnell in the Florida Old Time Modifieds and Robert Kissam in the 4 Cylinder Bombers.

In the V8 Warrior 15-lap feature it was Jason Burnside picking up the win over Jessica Robbins and Michael Hart.

In the Hobby Stocks it was Tommy Hill winning the 15-lap feature with Buck Woodhouse second and Jim Baker third.

In the Florida Old Time Modifieds it was Dan Darnell picking up the win over Jamie Frankland and Tom McDonald.

In the 3rd Annual Emil & Dale Reutimann Memorial for the Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds 50-lap Topless Feature it was Sherrill Ford, NC driver and native David Reutimann picking up the win for the second year in a row.
