Due to heavy rains that swept across Florida during the overnight hours, Ocala Speedway will unfortunately be forced to cancel racing for tonight, Friday, March 26th.  After a valiant effort by the track crew to get the clay into racing shape, it became apparent by 2:45 this afternoon that there was no way that racing could happen, so the decision was made to cancel tonight’s events.

In addition, the practice scheduled for Saturday, March 27th is also canceled.  Ocala Speedway owner Mike Peters says that the track is so saturated that he feels that it cannot be worked in and ready in time to practice as scheduled.

The irony of the situation does not sit well with Mike Peters, who knows that tonight would have provided almost perfect weather for a night of racing action.  He offers his apologies to the racers and fans, and hopes that they understand the circumstances that led to the cancellation.
