PIT
STOP!
Ocala Pit Slab Sales Open in January | by Ocala Speedway Media ZUBER, FL- With the start of the 2010 racing season looming in the not so very distant future, race teams are busy making preparations for another exciting year of dirt racing at Florida's oldest speedway. Ocala Speedway owner Mike Peters says that racers should not procrastinate when it comes to renewing pit slabs for 2010 because demand is high.
Pit slabs will go on sale on January 9th at the 2009 Ocala Speedway Banquet, with initial reservations limited to 2009 pit slab holders. Racers who rented slabs during 2009 will have first option on those slabs for 2010, but only for a limited time. Pit slab rentals will be open to everyone as of February 1st, and slabs that were rented for 2009 and not yet renewed and paid for 2010 will be up for grabs as well as of that date, with no exceptions.
Peters also reminds racers that it is important to know the length of your rig plus the space required for your equipment to roll out, as the pit slabs vary greatly in size. Those who rent a slab and then discover that their equipment does not fit when racing begins, may not be able to get a choice location if a switch is required. It is also important that teams select slabs that they can access with their rig when the pit area is crowded in case of an unforeseen late arrival.
Those who do not reserve slabs at the banquet can drop by the speedway through the week beginning on January 12th to look at the slabs and reserve space as needed. The speedway office will be open Tuesday through Friday from 9 AM until 4 PM. Anyone with questions can contact Ocala Speedway by calling 352-622-9400. If there is no answer, please leave a message and someone will get back to you. Terms and conditions surrounding pit slab rentals can be obtained through www.OcalaSpeedway.com, or by contacting the track. Have an opinion on
