| NEW KARTING FEATURE ON IFR EVERY MONDAY | Real Racin USA Media
IFR Host and former Kart racer himself, Rob "Bonehead" Elting has been beating the drum for more coverage of karting news all year. Bill Green, currently motorsports writer for the Tampa Tribune and RRUSA co-host announced major kart races all over the south for several years and is a huge supporter. Both are getting their Christmas wish this year.
Beginning in January, Inside Florida Racing will have a 20 minute segment each week dedicated solely to the world of karting.
Karting news and in depth interviews with the top racers, promoters and up and coming stars will highlight the segment, which is sponsored by the DeSoto Champ Kart Series. Both Series promoter Phil Harp and Mike Portman (who works with Phil to promote the series) are extremely excited about the new segment.
As both Phil and Mike can attest there are many stock car fans who don't know how many of the stars of the sport are also heavily involved in karting. On many weekends, you may find Sprint Car ace Troy DeCaire helping run a local karting operation.
Three time TBARA Champion Sam Rodriguez is owner of Dirt Devil Speedway and helped groom his grandson to the top level of stock car racing. You have all heard of of him, his name is Aric Amirola.
"We are very excited about including karting as part of our program because most people have no idea how hard it is to be successful in karts, the competition is brutal", said Rob Elting.
