| Update on Kaleigh Helmick | To the Drivers, Fans, Volunteers and Sponsors:
WOW, what a year this has been! The Lord has blessed our family by showing us the out pour of support and generosity of so many drivers, fans, volunteers and sponsors.
We would like to extend our greatest appreciation for what you have done to help our family at last year’s event, as well as the Hopkins family at the 2006 event.
To give you all a brief update on Kaleigh: A few short days after the event Kaleigh had a check up and we were notified that there was nothing more medically they could do for her. She was not expected to get any better nor live a long life. However, with great faith, hope and the prayers of everyone, Kaleigh celebrated her 2nd birthday on September 19, 2008! We could not ask for a more joyous celebration! Sometimes all of the medicine in the world can not help the sick; it has to be placed in God’s hands as Kaleigh has been. To this day, we are enjoying our gift of a happy and a healthy (as can be) 2 year old baby girl. Just as she was a year ago, her smile still shines as bright as the sun and we treasure every second we get to spend with her!
The event that Rick Bristol, the drivers, fans, volunteers and sponsors have put together is a wonderful event that has helped out our family in ways that we could never say enough “Thank you” for. We have been blessed to live life a little easier with the help of so many wonderful people from last year’s event. The fact that so many people come from so many different places all over the country to help a family in need is truly astonishing.
As we give thanks to everyone in supporting our family and the Hopkins family, we also ask that you help the Pate family and let them know that there are people out there praying and supporting them also.
