| Desoto Motocross Needs Help | Members,
We had indicated a few weeks ago that we hoped to have a grand re-opening of the motocross track to help regenerate participation. We also indicated that we needed your support in order to keep this track open. We were hoping after the last e-mail that a few of you would return to the track and show your support. Unfortunately, we still have not had the type of support needed to generate the funding or desire to keep this facility open.
Now, instead of having a grand re-opening, this Wednesday, October 22nd may be our "last chance ride". If we don't have a show of support from you, the members of this track, we may be closing it down. We've given it 6 months to work, listened to every reason why participation has been low (summer vacations, too hot, too rainy, other obligations, school, work, etc.), made phone calls, sent e-mails and taken your suggestions into consideration and still can't manage to generate enough riders to keep it going.
So many of you have said it's great to have a track so close to home and this is what your sport has needed in this area and yet there is always a reason why you can't make it out to ride on Wednesday nights or every other Sunday. If you don't want to see this facility disappear, please come out this Wednesday, October 22nd starting a 5:00 pm.
If for some reason you can't ride, maybe just come as a spectator or tell your friends to come out and ride. If nothing else, call the office (941) 748-3171 (Tuesday thru Friday 9-5 or Saturday after 12) or e-mail me and let us know what is going on. We'd really like to be able to keep this track open for you and with enough show of support, we will. I hope to either hear from you this week or to see you come out this Wednesday.
