Race No. 2 of Winter Series set for Saturday, Decmeber 8th at SpeedWorld | FASCAR Media
Orlando, Fl (December 1, 2007) Eighty one cars came to Orlando SpeedWorld on a sunny Saturday afternoon just to have some fun and no pressure racing. Orlando SpeedWorld began it's 1st Annual Winter Series on a high note for everyone involved. A few drivers came to just check-out the first race and decided that looked like fun and said they would have their cars there next Saturday afternoon.
There was no purse for the Winter Series but trophys for the first, second and third place cars in each division. If only one car showed up in one division, it was worked out that it would race no matter what and that is just what Bryan Silas did with his Late Model. He joined the rear of the field of the Sportsman and had a ball which is what this series is meant to do - have fun.
There were also a few winter visitors who came to the Florida sun for warmth bringing along their cars. Without this Winter Series, they would have had no place to play and loved the idea of a sunny afternoon of racing. Some also had never raced before and were just getting into the sport and this was the perfect opportunity to find out how it feels to race with other competitiors. It was a win-win situation for all.
Next Saturday, the pit gate will open at 3 p.m. as long as the PRI does not see a rain day and is forced to race on Saturday instead of Thursday and Friday. Practice begins as soon as the pit gate opens and racing starts at 7 p.m. with heats and features for all. General admission is $10.00, students and seniors $5.00, children 11 and under FREE. Pit gate is $25.00 non FASCAR member, $20.00 FASCAR member.
