Jason Hogan Lends A Hand To Busch At The Snowball | By Chris Ragle
Cleveland, GA 11/26/07- As a short track racer racing at various tracks throughout the country you always hope to catch the attention of someone great to showcase your talents at the next level. For Jason Hogan his opportunity may be just around the corner as he has been tapped by Kyle Busch Motorsports to practice and qualify the #51 Electric Visual Solutions/Centurion Boats/Rockstar Energy Drink Chevy Monte Carlo super late model in this year’s 40th Annual Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. “First of all I have to thank Richie Wauters for recommending me to Kyle (Busch) to get this opportunity with Kyle Busch Motorsports. To be recognized by a Nextel Cup driver and then to be asked to help him out at a race like the Snowball Derby is a true honor to me and my capabilities. My whole goal is to just get the car comfortable for Kyle and then put the #51 Electric Visual Solutions Chevy Monte Carlo in the show on speed. We don’t have to be the fastest car just fast enough on Friday to be locked in as one of the top thirty cars they are taking on speed,” said Hogan. The reason qualifying will be of such importance for the team will be the fact that the fifth place finisher in the Nextel Cup series final standings will be attending the end of the season championship banquet held in New York City November 28th-30th. However even if Hogan places the #51 Electric Visual Solutions Chevy Monte Carlo within the top thirty on the speed charts, Busch will be forced to start from the rear of the field do to the change in drivers. --Advertisement-- “Richie (Wauters) introduced me to Jason (Hogan) back in 2002 and told me then what a good driver he was. So when we were making our plans for the Snowball and knew I would be getting their late due to the NASCAR banquet. Both myself and Richie knew we needed to find someone that we were confident could put the car in the show on speed and decided to give Jason a call to help us out and he was all for it. Richie has worked with Jason in the past and I know what kind of talent and respect Jason has in short track racing so it was just a no brainer,” stated Busch.
