Charity 200 Truck Race Update | Rick Bristol
I just wanted to e-mail everyone to remind some, and update everyone on what is happening as we head down the stretch to the event. I am working on collecting the final money from laps, awards and sponsors so I can get it all where it needs to go and have ready for the event. So if you have sponsored any laps, awards or sponsored a race or other items, please send in as soon as you can this week.
I so appreciate all of you that have helped already. Some have really stepped up big and I pray a special blessing for all of you. If you are drivers with pre-entry forms please get them in asap.
Trucks: your pre-entry deadline for $125 is Saturday December 1st. It will be $175 after that.
I had a meeting last week with Bright House Networks and Brian Craven, thanks to Terry Roberts. They are going to produce and run commercials advertising the event in the Orlando area. They will also have Channel 13 do a report at the tracks with a couple trucks, the family and myself the week before the event.
We may have a word first of this week of a taped for TV deal. I will let you know asap. Steve Smith with the Orlando Sentinel is working on a story to come out Saturday the 8th, and this coming Friday JC Carnahan with the East Orlando Sun paper will have a story out.
Thanks so much to all of these folks for helping us get the word out and we look forward to growing this deal with them and their help in the years to come. I am really excited with all that is happening and want you all to know I count it a blessing to have all of your help and support.
If you have not made a donation and would like to you can do at the event or send to info below. We are asking folks that would like to. We are collecting items for little Kaleigh and the Helmicks. Kaleigh is a good sized baby who will be 14 months old at the event. If you want to bring toys, clothes or other items we will collect and present during the pre-race ceremonies Saturday night. You can do gift cards to places like toys-r-us, babies-r-us, walmart k-mart, publix, winn dixie etc.
They can use them for diapers, formula and other things they need. Anything you can do will be appreciated, this is a great project for the wives, moms and lady racers to head up. Also for you that were at last years event or would like to give something to Tommy Hopkins and his family that will be back with us, feel free to bring and designate it to the Hopkins family.
--Advertisement-- Tommy is now 11 and doing well, he will be giving us an update as well. Well there is much to do over the next three weeks, but I am feeling so good about the whole deal. I ask you to pray for good weather, and that everything goes well. Thanks and feel free to call me with any ideas, help or questions.
I hope to see you all December 14th & 15th at Orlando Speedworld. www.carsracermarketing.com for all the info.
P.S. - I got to attend David Reutimann's Charity BBQ and Auction this past Friday, before his Golf Tournament Saturday for the all Children's Hospital. I want say we have a Florida Guy who along with his wife and family are class acts, what a great event they organized. I do not know the total raised yet but boy the auction was doing great before we had to leave. David is making Zephyrhills and us Florida fans proud, he wanted to come this year again but his schedule will not allow. They are planning on sending some items for it. We wish David much success in 2008 when he steps into the UPS car after Dale retires. Have an opinion on
