Steve Shaver and the Shaver Motorsports/Cosgrove Racing Finishes 4th at DTWC, Prepares for World Finals at Lowes Dirt Track

VIENNA, WV (October 24, 2007)- Steve Shaver and the Shaver Motorsports/Cosgrove Racing Team competed at KC Raceway in Waverly, OH this past weekend and competed in the Dirt Track World Championship that paid a whopping $50,000 to win. Shaver driving his Drywall Systems Rocket Chassis would register a poor qualifying lap in his opinion and would start deep in the second heat race. Steve would make a few adjustments just before his heat race and would rally from 11th and finish 2nd in his heat race to earn a 8th place starting position for the 100-lap feature event.

Shaver would slowly move forward and was in the top five by halfway of the 100-lap feature. Steve and Josh Richards would battle side by side for the second position for numerous laps in the final 50 laps only to have the caution come out each time Shaver had cleared Richards. Steve would maintain the 3rd position before a late restart would bottle Shaver up and he was passed by Steve Francis. Shaver would finish a strong 4th in the final run down. "We had a really good car for the feature. I raced hard with Josh Richards for a bunch of laps and think I over heated the right rear tire there at the end of the race. If I could have just gotten by Josh before those cautions had come out I felt like I would have had a shot to win the race. It was good to get a top five with so many cars at that event and after our qualifying attempt was so poor. I have to thank my crew for all their hard work all weekend to get us into the top five", stated Steve.
