Mr. Gerald F. “Jerry” Reagan, 65, of Lake City, died Tuesday, June 19, 2007, in the Shands at the University of Florida Hospital following a sudden illness. A native of Sevierville, Tennessee, Mr. Reagan had been a resident of Lake City since 1991 having moved here from Orlando. He was the son of the late Raymond & Ruby Lamon Reagan. Mr. Reagan served two tours of duty in the United States Army in Germany and then in Alaska. He worked for many years as an HVAC sheet metal mechanic for the internationally owned companies, Fluor-Daniel Industries and the Brown & Root Company prior to retiring. He and his wife Florence then began second careers as concession owners and operators. They owned and operated Red’s Peanuts & Produce Market (corner of 47 & 240) and operated concessions at Columbia Motor Sports Park, Ginnie Springs, and various festivals prior to retiring again in 1995. Mr. Reagan was a member of the Moose Lodge in Knoxville, Tennessee, and in his spare time he enjoyed woodworking. Mr. Reagan was a member of the White Springs United Methodist Church and had most recently been attending the Watertown Congregational Methodist Church.
Mr. Reagan is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Florence Conner Reagan; a son, Ronald Reagan (Margie) of Sturgis, Kentucky; a daughter, Tonia Jarboe (Daniel) of Morganfield, Kentucky; three brothers, Dennis Reagan (Margie); Charles Reagan(Vera); and Phil Privette all of Sevier County, Tennessee and a sister, Gloria Privette Deckard also of Sevier County, Tennessee. Three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.
Memorial services for Mr. Reagan will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday , September 19, 2007 in the chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home, with Rev. Doug Maloney officiating.
