Earl currently has 5 wins on the series in 2007 and leads Scott James by 195 points with three events remaining on the series schedule in 2007.
Earl and the Bobby Labonte Racing team competed in the annual World 100 at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH last weekend and Earl entered the event as the defending champion. Earl qualified 14th out of the 203 drivers entered for the 100-lap $40,000 to win event. Earl started 4thin the second heat race and was confident of transferring into the feature event based on how his car had felt on qualifying night and his previous visit to the track back in July when he won the World of Outlaws sanctioned event.
On the initial start of Earl's heat entering into turn one on the first lap Earl was in position to advance a couple positions before being hit from behind by Chub Frank. The severe hit by Frank turned Earl around in front of the whole field and Earl was hit head on by another car ending his night with severe damage to his LifeLong locks Mastersbilt Chassis. "It was very disappointing at Eldora to not be in the feature. Chub basically just took me out on the first lap. He was out of control the entire heat race and eventually took himself out from making the feature. We'll try again next year. I want to congratulate Jimmy Owens on winning this years World 100", stated Earl.
Bobby Labonte and the Bobby Labonte Racing Team would like to wish Earl's father Earl Pearson Sr. and family well wishes and encouragement as he goes through some serious health issues at this time in Jacksonville, FL.
